It's been a while since I've taken the train to Geelong, my friends and I are planning on getting an earlier train and have lunch in there but I'm not sure how it works with trains home. I'm looking to book ahead but do they fun footy special trains and do you have to book to be on them. Or if you have a ticket to Melbourne is that all you need to get on to any of the trains heading back?

Thanks in advance.

Given you will be leaving about mid-way through the third quarter, and that there will only be another 85 Melbourne supporters allowed in to the ground, I don't think you would need to worry about missing the train home...

The Geelong stations have myki mate.

Not sure if they would run extra trains - obviously most of the stadium will be people from Geelong.

Before anything else you need to get your hands on a DeLorean.

Then you could go back in time and make sure 186 never happened!

Or go further back and remove Barry Prendergast from the equation.

Do you know roughly how much it is for single trips so I know much to load on the card.

http://www.vline.com.au/pdf/timetables/footy/afl3.pdf Has the footy special and one more. I think it's mostly hourly to Geelong on Sundays. The Myki calculator suggests $16.52 for an off peak adult return fare. It's also the first day of Regional Rail Link so you'll go via a new route. You'll only need to book if you decide to catch the Warrnambool train.

Some of the comments in this thread are tiresome and we don't help ourselves with perceptions in the media and footy public. ?You want a ticket get on ticketmaster and buy one. There's still a couple of hundred reserved seats left plus GA. Personally, I think it stinks it's not included as an away game membership.

Will also be there, rubbing shoulders with past players... of the enemy variety unfortunately.

Not sure if I'm looking forward to it, actually.

Uncharacteristically this week I'm full of trepidation.

i think it's not included as an away game membership, because everyone on that type of membership would therefore pay more and yet so few would take advantage of it

Get off at South Geelong - 500 metre walk. It's zone 4 in Myki. Be careful there's a new timetable on Sunday because Geelong trains go on the regional rail line through Sunshine and two new stations then back in at little river. NOT through Newport or Werribee

At least he is weaving his Magic at Carlton now.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
