GAME DAY - Round 11

Featured Replies

St kilda. Yet another team that goes past us after just one year below us.

And there it is.

25 minutes into the first quarter.

No air in those handball - and often handballs players into trouble.. - J.Toumpas.

At least he's getting his hands on the ball.

FFS.

Thanks god for Watts. Seriously can anyone else in this team kick a bloody footy?!

luckily Angus can :)

Smashing them in the midfield

We should be 5 goals up

Had a cheeky hundred on Hogan to kick the first at $10.

Heading over next month for the game v. Bris. My shout with the winnings, we're we getting on it?!

On a side note, again the turnovers are killing us. We are better than the Saints.

Yeah im a big critic of Watts, but his first quarter showed how much more footy I.Q. he has than the bulk of his team mates. Kept us in it i thought. What a great kick he is. Toumpas can also be an excellent kick.... he should be instructed NEVER to handball simply because he cant.

I hate it as well but to be fair Viney also does this and has had a few more games. Not many highlight Viney as often but he can also be handball happy and can not only hand out hospitals but also occasionaly gives or hands it straight to the opponent.

We have alot of areas that need fixing in general play though.

Great example is just using their brain eg, Dont go 2nd 3rd up in a marking contest if u see a solid tall in good position to mark. We do this far too often allowing opponents to gather the spilled ball and run off or kick a goal round the corner etc

Overuse, overuse, overuse.

Some terrible disposal coming out of our backline too. Kick to advantage, OUR advantage FFS

The ding. Spot on.

strangely not a hard concept for us spectating. Must be hard to grasp down there.

Watts had a great quarter as did Jones and Brayshaw.

Kicking into the forward line atrocious.

Gilbert is Oxley revisited

I would add Jetta, Mitchie and Spencil into that mix but thats probably about it lol

Toumpas has no idea

Is it not possible for people to look at the entirety of a player's game, and not just the fault/errors?

7 possessions, 2 tackles and a mark. There are a LOT of Melbourne players nowhere near that at quarter time.

Goal to Roo and Saints lead by 7.

the Toump needs to understand no bonus for ever trying to hit the roof. Low and hard son.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
