Spencer White delisted from St Kilda after a couple of years. I remember hearing a lot of hype around him - worth a look at all?

Saints have delisted a few - no doubt will cause a proliferation of new threads but this is it according to news.com.au

A KEY forward once likened to Lance Franklin and a utility compared to Brendon Goddard are out the door after St Kilda list cuts.

Spencer White attracted comparisons to the Sydney superstar with his athleticism but never cut it at senior level, playing just two senior games (four goals) after he was selected with pick 25 in the 2012 draft.

Arryn Siposs was noted for his prodigeous right boot and won a Rising Star nomination in 2012. He said before the 2013 season he had ambitions of filling the hole left by Goddard when he left for Essendon as a free agent.

He has also been delisted after failing to play a senior game this year.

The Saints have made two other list changes, parting ways with defender Tom Simpkin and injury-cursed forward Daniel Markworth who failed to play a senior game in four years at Seaford.

Let's wait for the inevitable 'The Spencer White Thread' or 'The Arryn Siposs Thread' with some pathetic attempt at making them seem like great recruits for us next year.

If anyone does starts those threads they deserve to be banned. I hope the mods are paying attention!

If true Collingwood being into Howe straight swap for freeman? Any takers

No way, bloke can't even get out on the park.

Sen reports collingwood talking with Howe.

Freeman would be at this stage a downgrade. Its unusual for highly rated high draftees to be on the table after two years unless he's nqr but he looked great at tac cup level (as did many).

Howe for Treloar? ;)

someone here claimed Aish would announce his want to go to Collingwood. Nothing yet so does that mean he has suitors in the clubs who havent finished?

Only one on the St Kilda list of delistings that slightly interests me is Markworth. So promise no White or Siposs threads from my end!

Lol, but what do GWS get out of this deal?

Fair amount of chatter around that Aish is Hawthorn bound. Paul Connors confirmed Collingwood are no longer in the running.

HIs silence on his future may have a lot to do with his prospective employer's involvement in finals footy.

For all the debate on Aish's trade worth, the Hawk's first rounder is probably around the mark.

If they were feeling extra generous, they could throw Suckling into the deal so any Leuenberger compensation isn't diluted.

EDIT: Insert Grimley for Suckling and we may have the formulation of the deal.

Unfortunately thats what i have heard aswell re Aish to Hawthorn.

Ban top 4 teams from trades above AFL average player salary. Also, no access to FAs. Something needs to be done to stop top clubs collecting the cream from struggling clubs

Well, they have installed the pre-cursor to that with Sydney's hamfisted restriction on trading the last two years and now their max $450k contract stipulation for new players.

So that might be a chance to happen.

Yes Aish being silent on his future while still ne resigning with Brisbane makes it pretty clear.

Purple reporting that Bennel is keen on Freo.

So now it's looking

Calm your farm.

Do you really think Melksham is the only player we'll be bringing in?

The reason we're not a destination club is our own fault.

You do realise that?

Some of those are mere speculation though, particularly Bennell, Aish and Selwood. It's been stated Selwood is keen to stay in WA.

But I get your point. It seems players just want to either go home these days or go running to a premiership contender. It's pathetic.

How soon are clubs going to overlook interstate talent and just draft or sign players from their own state? So many players want to 'go home' these days that clubs will overlook them and just draft players where that won't be a factor.

You mean like drafting Watts instead of Nic Nat?

or in our case drafting Toumpas instead of Ollie!

PS. Just having some fun.

This is why next year is so important.

We must continue to improve next year so we can start appearing as a suitable destination club for players.

Moving home or to a club who are contending for a premiership... Seriously how is that pathetic? moving out of home into a different state is a lot for a 18/19 year old. You make a major change in your life and lets see how you cope.

What if the tables were turned, MFC finishing top 4 and poaching talent from bottom 4 clubs. I guarantee you attitude would be different.

Why do they play the game? Play for a team that finishes bottom 4 or have the opportunity to win a flag?

The journo's chatting with Harford on SEN said they believe Toumpas will play his footy somewhere else next year. Not sure on what the were basing it on but, just made a passing comment.

Yet to sign, despite the thread on him extending his contract. Looking more and more likely every day.

I wonder what we will get for him?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
