I agree with what you are saying and think we need all of that. I just put it in a business context. For the club to be successful as a business we need to provide those things because if we don't then the supporters lose that connection and the club loses money and doesn't survive. The AFL are slowly waking up to this and the club is now in hands I trust to start bringing these things back.

It is the same with people selling things, if you look at cars people have a emotional irrational connection to certain brands. The brand will do what ever they can to keep that connection, all for the bottom line.

It is a step to take to realise that you are a customer but it is the way it is and needs to be for the club to survive.

the business is bound to fail, if it cannot start getting the supporters back re-engaged with the players of our club once again, the emotional attachments to the Mfc has been severed, as if cheated on, just like a partner in marriage has gone out secretly having an affair, cheating, & emotionally shutting out the other partner.. the emotions are severed.

this has to be repaired before any business model can be applied.

Sorry, why is everyone telling Olisik to grow up? Redleg's comment about 'war dance' in regards to Bennell was completely irrelevant to his footballing ability and should have been called out.

Part of running business is repairing these things though. they are not separate, they are one and the same, and any good business manager will identify that and get to work to do so.

Umm I think you need to re read the thread.

It was my comment and I just added "and a war dance".

Did it not take place?

I just add it to the stat's listed.

I think Maxxy is pretty committed to the Dees. Would be surprised to see him go.

One of the few that I feel would be loyal.

Bennell's going nowhere. He wants to repay the faith shown in him by GC.

so what if its irrelevant, its how he honestly feels at this time, so in that, it is relevant.

this is the trouble with the club... you sound so business like in your descriptions of this issue, it sounds like I would talk about an engine part.

But I would still have the emotion & passion in my words & sounds, describing the car part.

this is the reason the aFL are fcuking it up so badly... they are treating it from a distance like an stock on stock market the other side of the world... there is no empathy, & this is why they are failing BADLY imo..

the game isn't a business..... its the peoples game..... only those who see $$$$ in it, treat it like a business, & this is why they are messing it up.

its like a family member, to people, genuine supporters.. you don't repair a loved one. you love them & help them. If they go off the rails on drugs & turn nasty bashing & murdering people, you become distanced from them.

this is where business has taken the game, since going Pro.

the people are distancing, from the thing they don't recognise anymore.

If Gawn left for money he would deserve the Goodes treatment. After we have spent 6 or so years developing him and nursing him through repeat knee injuries the least he can do is sign with us.

That is not the real world olisik

We now live in a world where you set yourself up because in the end that is the way the system is designed.

The union wants nothing to do with anything that does not mean more money to players to expect more than that is fool hardy.

Why all the talk about Treloar?

Yes, he's a good tough, hardworking player and fits Roosy' big-bodied midfielder mantra.

But do we really need another clearance type who has great aerial skills ahead of say a hard-working running type who can break lines - I thought that's what everyone complains about with our style.

I'm sorry but I reckon the club would have only minimal interest in wasting its top pick and a player to get Treloar and that's even if they could match what the Pies, North and Dogs can offer.

Would those wanting him actually be happy if Vince or Viney or Jones was forced out of the midfield set-up?

To me the player we wanted was Dylan Shiel because he provides dash and works hard - but unfortunately that boat has sailed.

Danger would be nice too and is in keeping with our urgent need - but that boat has also sailed.

So why is everyone working themselves into a lather about Treloar being on the market?

Does anyone have some inside info about him wanting to come or is it just dreamy hot air by Demonlanders?

Treloar isn't a big bodied mid. But he is a great accumulator and has a bit of x-factor with his goal kicking and speed.

Treloar is about the same height as Scully.

Pretty Low then?

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
