Would prefer Jetta over Yarran too.

Pretty different players, IMO. Yarran would provide some fantastic run and great skills off half back, while Jetta is a much better one on one defender.

In summary, would love to have both at the Dees.

motlop has been mooted as one of the possible moves if crows do choose to 'match' the dangerfield contract (presuming it comes from the cats) and force geelong to the trade table.

Motlop would be a great get, if we could wrangle it.

yes, well sort of, the picture is an individual, who is sitting, in a canoe, facing down hill, on the easy slope.

...... we've had way too many of these in our recent past ; & this type leaves a greasy film over everything behind them. too hard to clean up after they've let you down.

please no lazy talents any more.

I Think we should go after Charlie Dixon very athletic and takes a great pack mark!

Pretty sure he is going up the highway to Brisbane on a big payday.

I believe Jetta will be at the Eagles next year. His old man has been saying it at work and happy to have him back. You could almost cross him off the list.

I'd be very, very disappointed if that happened. I thought his family moved from WA to Melbourne when he was drafted.

That would be devastating news and I find it kind of hard to believe. Although he's from WA Roosy has helped Nev absolutely turn his career around and become a very good player. As well as that, I've always thought Nev looks very happy and at home with the Dees and his teammates.

I think they are talking about LEWIS Jetta not Neville.

Watching Yarran play today....I definitely wouldn't mind him at the dees

Would take Yarran in a heartbeat. Apparently he and Jeff Garlett are great mates,

What hypothethically would we offer him?

Ok a second rounder plus??? a player who might they be interested in?

Our first round pick would be overs and our second round pick unders.

Yarran for Carlile in a straight swap is the story at the moment.

The Bombers are being dudded big time unless there are picks involved in that deal.

Dean Kent will be retained GUARANTEED

Yeah, on consideration, looking back on his 2014 rather than thinking too much on his unlucky 2015, absolutely.

A young small forward who managed to kick a decent stream of goals, despite being in the second lowest scoring team in the history of the 22-game format, that's a keeper.

Just a note of warning for those looking to land the big fish. In other words Paddy Danger...

None of the premiership teams of the last 10 years and probably further back (Brisbane being an exceptional circumstance) have won on the back of landing a big fish.

What they have done is built their team on the back of good drafting and augmenting the team with key players to fill specific roles.

As we are seeing at Sydney, the loss of Mumford and others forced out by their big fish recruiting is causing issues in the ruck and their depth. Can they win it this year???

If Geelong get Danger then they risk Motlop and others.

I think we keep on doing what we're doing, it's a slow burn but is starting to pay dividends.

Build the team on the back of the kids we've brought in over the last few years, look to fill roles (which have so far been in adding experience to the list but will broaden from this year on) and keep spending up on development and drafting more quality kids.

If Mick was still in charge, a packet of twisties and he'd probably take it.

A late second round pick?

He was even better in the games he played this year. He was clearly fitter and a little faster. He was exciting to watch and took the game on. He's someone we definitely retain.

I agree. Although personally I'd class Ottens as a big fish. He was highly rated as a forward at the time and then became a gun ruck (which also highlights how nothing is for granted).

But the cats had already made a prelim on the back of youth by the time he came.

The last 3 flags have also been won on the back of significant trades - Kennedy, McGlynn, Gunston, Hale, Burgoyne etc. So as you've said trading to fill roles is certainly part of the list building package.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’
