Funniest part of the night - seeing Geoff Edelsten in the box sitting behind Mick. Seriously WTF is going on there? Might explain how crap they are if he's giving Mick some mid game advice!

As minor as it is in the scheme of things it is still a disgrace, he had no right being there.

Hate to say it but Collingwood might just get scary in the next year or two. We have yet to see Freeman and Scharenberg (two top 10 picks in 2013) or Darcy Moore and Sidebottom is to come back.

Their list is looking a lot like that of GWS: 14 of last night's team have played less than 50 games, very good senior players showing great leadership. Collingwood have made a point of having 3/4 top 20 picks in the last 3 years and it is paying off for them. Like Geelong and Hawthorn, they have rebuilt quietly.

They didn't get much resistance last night but the signs of a very good team were clearly visible! Yuk..it doesn't sit comfortably praising them. Unlike those 'bruise-free' Carlton players we will put up a decent fight and will beat them on QB!

The Pies recruiting has been outstanding, and their trading is generally pretty good too - they have done very well out of the Beams trade. Crisp looks a competent player and De Goey will be very good.

Jason Taylor will hopefully be able to get similar results for us after working with Derek Hine. There are positive signs already.

The key is that Collingwood gave up or lost players to free agency (therefore were compensated) who still had some value in Dawes, Thomas, Lumumba, Shaw, Wellingham and Beams.

Gibbs 0 tackles

Murphy 2 tackles

Judd 2 tackles

Putrid leadership.

Bit tough on old man Judd who at least looked like he cared, but overall I agree. To lose by 75 points and also lose the tackle count 82-47 is a disgusting effort.

Agree that it's unbelievably poor foresight from AFL to give the Blues so many Friday nights this season. We have 5 more of these debacles to come.

Thomas is the only free agent out of that lot

carlton has a rubbish list, it's not surprising that a team with awful leadership and a lot of soft players hasn't been able to go anywhere serious.

Huge rebuild ahead

Oh how quickly we forget! Sounds like us 5 years ago!

Last night for the blues was as bad as our 186 game. Different score diff but the same on and off field shemozzle.

It's the Carlton forward line, Grace Jones could probably get a game.

She's more of an athlete than Alan Jones I suppose.

Both Cats & Tiges very average..As for the coach, I think I know why they call him 'Dimmer' now, how can he have Asbury on Hawkins and Rance on Walker.

Watson reckons it's because he wants Rance to roll off his opponent but that's also what Chaplin does so how about they have some players take direct responsibility for someone. No wonder they are soft.

Whichever team wins this, neither are going anywhere.

Richmonds lack of active trading last year was astounding

They thought they were ready

After being smashed by the Power!!

This was always going to happen. Restrict Riewoldt & there is nothing there.

Totally agree. After just falling into the finals and then being kicked out 1 week later, one would think that they needed "something" to

add to the list to take the next step.

But they did nothing, and their first pick in the draft was number 12!

I fail to see how adding 1 probably average player was going to improve their lot.

The other team that did nothing was the Eagles, and they too have been found out at this early stage.

The Blues were always going to get thumped this year. They didn't have a recruiting department of any merit until Silvani arrived back this year. ( Broekhurst as first pick at 19 ?)

Their only modus operandi for the past 25 years has been with a cheque-book. And they will use it again at the end of this year, as Judd is sure to retire.

The truth is they need a complete overhaul of their list and that will take many, many years.

Some rather dubious umpire favourtism to the Dogs in the last half of that quarter. Stringer played for a free. Highs paid to the Bulldogs that aren't being paid anywhere else. Bont clearly deliberately kicking the ball to the boundary line from about 50 metres away (to no players) that isn't called deliberate.

Why do we never get this kind of armchair ride treatment from the umps??

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
