On a more sour note I'm thinking that there is a lot more water to go under the bridge with Hogan, and his overall value to MFC, and it is all about joining the dots.

I have no inside information other than just the way things are proceeding.

MFC will not pay overs for Hogan. He is only one player. His upside is huge but his goalkicking yips are a concern. His accuracy is sub 50% once you include out of bounds kicks.

I think a 4 year deal out to 2021 is sufficient at $700k a year. $2.8million for a 21 year old to digest.

Wow.

And he gets the play a game that we all love on the best sporting arena in the world.

The way he is kicking he would be lucky to get $500k a year as a FF

He would deserve the $700 as a CHF

Arent we all just a happy mixed up lot. I am predominantly right side dominant. However I do eat left handed ( because its the RIGHT way logically !! lol )   I write right handed . I can use most tools either hand. I started my Bball life as a right handed shooter and would do layups still mainly as a right hander but distant shots left handed, foul shooting right handed unless I had the yips , then Id change ...just to change..lol.  I kick righ footed but gradually learnt to kick ( the shorter game ) left foot also.

Im not sure what any  of this means other than Im completely screwed up...hehehe .   What I have found is you can learn things , you can adapt, but there also may be inbuilt limitations per person.

Jesse's run in is as cack handed as any Ive seen and it CANT help him. It reintroduces everytime too many variable before the dropping of the ball and the strike. When he cant think about it it all just flows.  He need REAL mental coaching here.

He was  hired to kick goals. Good goal kickers have a constant rhythmic action. He needs to learn one

Interesting. I am a bit of a basket case as well.

anything single handed I am right (dominant side) so writing, bowling in crickey, kicking etc.

but anything double handed such as batting, hand balling etc I am left.

dancing to the beat of a different drum I like to call it!

Haha, I'm similar although I'm a left footer - I write right-handed and play tennis, bowl right handed but bat in cricket/baseball and play golf left handed.

Playing basketball I shoot left-handed with two hands but shoot right-handed with one hand (like a lay up). Don't know what's going on there I just tell everyone it's because I use both hemispheres of my brain ;)

So that depends on the coaching staff, and where they'll decide to play him.

Jesse was spotted ripping in to some red rooster in Geelong yesterday.

Obviously after a big session at Winkipop.

We can bank the 4 points now.

Nick Reiwoldt-esque the way he covered ground and snagged goals today.

Fair comparison?

Anyone have the feeling he is a better CHF that FF?  Will the Weid and Hoges swap thier intended roles?  Based off yesterday I think so.

You'd think so.

I think it's clear Hogan's attributes and strengths suggest he is a traditional CHF.

Weideman is a goal square FF.

Watts to play third tall.

Yep. Garlett, Kent, Petracca at the feet and that is hard to match up on.

Weed is listed at around 197 cms and hes still just 18, so hopefully after adding some more strength/muscle he can become a really nice pinch hitter in the ruck.  Would make him a very dangerous player and make the team balance perfect.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best.
