Good Times Grimes 2,396 Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Yeah me too, but I do worry about these new big deals.... look at Franklin. Since he was on the real big money whats he done?? Then again theres no other option I guess. The thing that I can see with Jesse is that he's driven to be the best and absolutely hates losing. Paying him big money on a lengthy contract wouldn't change this. 1 Quote
daisycutter 30,021 Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 He is at the club for the next 48 games guaranteed - there is no rush. The next deal can be the huge one. shouldn't that be the next 54 games? 3 Quote

What are you suggesting, just let someone else give him the money so they can deal with the distracted superstar? 3 Quote
ManDee 7,395 Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Ask him how much he wants to earn over his football career. Then simply fill in the number of years. I'm guessing a young man would like $10million On a one club entire career basis that would be a bargain. Front and rear end the contract and away we go. $2mill $1mill $700kl $700k $600k $600k $700k $700kl $1mill $2mill 1 Quote

Gorgoroth 13,220 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 He would be watching the bullies delivering to their forwards and thinking, I would have 80 goals this year if I was at that club. If we don't improve by a massive margins next year, he will walk the year after to a better club. 3 Quote

Gorgoroth 13,220 Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 (edited) It's my opinion, and I truly believe he will leave the club eventually. Wether that is 2, 5, 8 years I'm not sure. But I don't have faith he will be a one club player. Edited August 16, 2015 by Gorgoroth Quote

In this day and age he could get enormous amounts thrown at him regardless. The point is, you're spending too much time despairing over losing Hogan. He is contracted to us at the moment, he puts in more effort than most on game day and he clearly seems to love playing with his mates. What will be, will be but I think he'll be with the MFC for a long time and I expect the club will do what they need to to ensure that this happens. We are improving and every time I've ever heard him speak, he indicates that he is very passionate and very keen to spearhead this improvement and make the club great again. Smokey for future captain? Quote
Gorgoroth 13,220 Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 I'm petrified that I'm finally seeing a forward show as much promise as the Ox and I can't help but think/feel he will up and leave us. I'll try and stop now. 1 Quote

"Sheed and esp. Cripps is going really well. Getting over 35 last week, mid 20's in the last month....(hesitates)... actually haven't really paid attention and just trying to improve himself" He is tracking everyone and wants to be better then everyone. Timothy Reddan-A'Blew 5,690 Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 This was interesting: http://www.triplem.com.au/melbourne/shows/rush-hour-with-james-brayshaw-and-billy-brownless/podcasts/ If you're OK to download the 53MB and get to the Jesse interview, his somewhat equivocal (look it up?) response to the "How do you like living in Melbourne?" question was where the worry lies for me. Meanwhile, though, it's great to have him with us - with a bunch of other good stuff (albeit spasmodically!), it makes watching/following the Dees a little bit better than it has been in recent years! Skuit 10,031 Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 TRB - I'm not okay with 53mb. Can you please summarise for us? Your thoughts of course. Quote
