Can confirm that selectors are idiots

This always amazes me.

I watched one full game this weekend I have little idea who played well in other games.

One assumes the selectors watched all games.

It is possible someone played better than Hogan.

Hogan may not have been the absolute standout, but he has been consistently excellent in one of the toughest roles in one of the poorest midfield teams.

How he hasn't earnt a nomination thus far is beyond a joke. He's in better form than some veterans going around.

It's a bit of a nonce award, really. Jesse is clearly one of the most promising talents in the game. We know it, everyone in the footy world knows it, but because on any given week someone else plays a slightly better game, he doesn't get nominated.

The way the system works makes me not feel too sad about him missing out. I don't need a RS nomination to know how good he is, and I don't reckon he does either.

It still does not alter the fact he may not have been the best this weekend..

You also have to take into account that he is a forward.

Midfielders always get more votes that deep forwards or backs

Just look at the Brownlow results.

By the way the result is not out yet is it?

Don't get me wrong, I think Hogan will be our best player since Robbie. But he has one minor weakness....can't kick further than 45-50 meters (accurately that is)!

He did kick a good goal from 50m against Sydney. But I agree, it does lack a bit of penetration.

He'll probably dob one from 55m on his left foot next week now we've said it.

He loaded up twice yesterday and miss kicked both.

He obviously thinks he is a good chance from long distance.

I would not give up on him just yet.

When he kicked his 3rd and the lead was out to 33 with 1.5 qtrs left.. i was rubbing my hands thinking here we go.. but alas, not to be.. but that bag of 6 is only a matter of weeks away, no doubt about it

Hopefully only a fortnight away!

Someone showed me this, taken from Big Footy

Got the radio to listen to the umps mic. Bob Murphy was having a go at Hogan, saying "next big thing".

Hogan: "Where's the bloke you signed?" And pointed at the Dogs bench

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
