Clash Jumpers

Featured Replies

I note that we are wearing a white jumper again this round Vs the Bumbers...so there is zero chance we will see the RED jumper on-field. A real let down on the clubs part conning supporters into thinking that we had a second clash strip, making people spend money on it and then never wearing it. Just call it a training strip if that is what it is.

won't stay white for long tomorrow

As long as we win I don't care what the colour is.

White, black, pink, polka dots I don't care

but....you have zero confidence we will win....

Some classic lines in this thread. Well done, Demonland. Made me LOL.

Hawthorn's clash jumper last night was truly an abomination

Crossed between Wonder Woman @ & Power Rangers

The Hawthorn Jumper clashes with no one.

I turned the TV off and listened to the wireless.

Could not stomach that design.

Cod pieces sold separately

With Watts and this Moustache.. We can't lose!

Agree CC, it just screams "i'm kicking 5 on Saturday!!!"

p.s - Whether that means goals or possessions is TBD

What a moronic situation tonight. Navy blues in dark blue (essentially black) against Richmond in black and a thin yellow strip.

AFL is run by morons.

See Lions are wearing their old Fitzroy blue and red jumper for one away game this year...

Against us...

Red and blue vs red and blue...

Ha ha the AFL are F!ogs

Careful. The AFL logic may make us wear our away jumper for our home game.

I don't understand why the AFL can't get the clash jumper situation right.

Step 1) Every club has a home jumper and an away jumper that is different

Step 2) The home club always wears their main jumper and it is the away teams job to change

Step 3) If there is NO CLASH then don't bother wearing the away jumper.

Pretty bloody simple.

Pretty bloody simple, but when did the AFL consider simple solutions?????

Rule number 1 is that all footy jumpers should be as simple as possible.

Away jumpers should follow this

Remove side panels etc

I still think we'll wear the red one against Carlton in rd 21.

As long as we win I don't care what the colour is.

To me, winning in the red and blue is an integral part of the victory. We’re still Melbourne in another jumper, but the victory’s just not as sweet.

So, why didn't we wear it against the Doggies?? (Yep. I know. Dumb question...!)

Maybe we should wear the polka dots to signify the mountain we have to climb to get where we want to be

At least wearing the Red jumper, which i don't mind at all, should put to rest this silly idea about needing to be white. Then we can wear either our real jumper or the red one (only)next season.

We are after all the red and the blue. Lets just keep it that way.

The red one definitely looks better than that white. Would like to see it used more.

so i just read on facebook this could be essendons next clash strip, how come we have to wear that awful white and they get to just reverse the colours?!?!

I dont mind clash strips if they still consist of your clubs normal colours!! i really dont wanna see white again, it makes it even harder to watch then they already are!post-5226-0-82735200-1442645408_thumb.jp

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
