Looking for ride/passenger to Canberra will share costs

It'll certainly be a step or two up on what you're accustomed to BBO.

The Estate in Romsey is comfortably pretentious while remaining tasteful. Sufficient to let the poor folk gawk in awe.

So I assume then that the Fyshwick townhouse is likely to be opulent but, given Biffen's lack of taste, crass?

This thread is [censored] awesome.

Correct plus certain other "gear" to ensure exciting night after activities in Cantberra.

BTW Biffen has organised accommodation for me in a place called Fyshwick . He assures me it is a very salubrious area.

couldn't you put special in the horse llama camel alpaca trailer?

I want video of this roadtrip on YouTube for all Demonlanders to enjoy want went down.

" gear" ...............if i was you I would travel alone "Special" no disrespect to BBO!

No offence taken Ernest but surely you would understand that I am like any honest tradesman. A plumber carries his wenches wrenches, an electrician his screwdrivers. A decent flagellator carries his/her ... well you get my drift.

No offence to "Special" but the Lads are very touchy about their trailer.

Sorry Em but all videos are strictly for personal use. I'd have to give you a whipping if you got your sordid little mitts on one.

Interesting road trip.

Im picturing a cross between "Priscilla", and "The Sure Thing"

If you carry a short length of hose and a large Jerry can with you, free petrol is only a quick suck away.

Alternatively, if you found a way to harness the methane expulsion in the Carolla over 6 hours with Bitters you could travel to mars.

I'm afraid it would be a choice of either the Eagles or the Eagles sonically so you might consider taking some razor blades.

I only just glimpsed the end of that first sentence Biff and thought one of your girls was to be in BBOs car!

As I said before faulty, it will be based entirely on Wolf Creek, with a football game as the premise.

This thread just keeps getting better and better!

I'm picturing Thelma and Louise- but as overweight men, shoved into a Carolla, exploring their freedom on the road.

Probably not as good as the original movie .

They could do the lemming thing if we lost badly.

Also ,I think the ACT is a hub for porn purveyors and collectors so Bitters will make the most of the trip I'm sure.

Please Biffen, don't tell me you mislead me about Fyshwick. You obviously overcharged me!!

I have an old corolla which will make it ok...looking for someone to come with me to share petrol and accommodation. Desperately poor so can only do this with help.

The plan is to drive to Holbrook ...... leave about lunchtime Friday and stay overnight on Friday. Then 3 hours to Canberra Sat morning. Drive back to Holbrook accommodation Sat night.......back to Melb Sunday morning arrive sun arvo.

Petrol about $150 total and accommodation around $90-100 for a two single beds times two nights. So the travel/accom could be done for About $175 each.

Prefer stunningly attractive young blond female companion, however will accept old ugly [censored] like myself....or any other Demon mad human being. I've got an old corolla but it'll make it. Would be happy to go in your late model Ferrari or similar.

Any other hair brained scheme to get there considered.

If you still haven't found a passenger to share the load with you The Demon Army's facebook page will help you out

I think we should demand a full report on this thread afterwards, which could form the first chapter of a new book called "Demon road trips" ... :)

There's a road trip to a Demons Swans match at the SCG in 1983 (or 82), arranged by the club (or possibly the cheer squad) that i COULD elaborate on for that book

Please do!

classic. nice to have a laugh this morning. has anyone actually seen BBO? i have always been intrigued by his photo and posts. almost worth taking the risk and giving him a lift to find out after making sure he is in the backseat with seat belt firmly on to ensure he or she cannot get aroused on the journey.

someone told me this was a shot from better days

If Jack Kerouac had read this thread before he got big his first novel may well have been "I'd prefer to stay home".

Should ask the club for your money back, and compensation for your time.

The money should come from the players pockets.

Im not even kidding.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

  • PREGAME: Richmond

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
