Do members get in for free or do we have to buy tickets?

Members get in for free but it's recommended to pre purchase a ticket as capacity is about 9000, and if your traveling you don't want to get there and not be able to get in, I think it's $6 to get a ticket if you quote your membership number

Thanks. Will get 3 tickets

not really, we're actually going OK. Only two of those are important players and the others aren't even injured AFAIK. However, there are others, such as Watts, who are in the squad but their ticket is secured. We still have three weeks for some lucky lads to snatch up some remaining tickets

just for once, God, please, can we have something that is somewhere near our best 22 for round 1

Would you say the others are up a chocolate river without a paddle?

pretty much, except for the brand new ones. If you have been around for a few years, and you're not injured, and you're not getting named in a 29 man squad I would suggest your future at the club is in serious jeopardy

For those visiting our grand city of Ballarat for the game the weather will be changeable.

An expected top temperature of 27 degrees before a cool, windy, showery change.

Bring a jacket as the ground is quite open to the elements and there is no cover at all.

Fingers crossed the change holds off till after the match ends.

Bring on the game tomorrow. Can't Wait. Being a Ballarat Demon this is a once in a blue moon day having my beloved Dees in town. I know it's only a NAB cup game but what are they all about? Bringing the game to the masses. Not just the city folk. It's a big weekend for my 8yo and 4yo daughters. The game tomorrow arvo then the family day in St.Kilda on Sunday. Let's hope for a win tomorrow. Surely we give the doggies a touch up.

North Ballarat sports club will be open but it'll be packed.... the other should be the 'bar' under the scoreboard on the 'hill' ... that's where all the action will be!

I knew someone would raise that pair CBDees however they don't fare large in my expectations for this year.

My point was the dogs squad is missing more of their best players then the dees.

Why on earth don't you rate Vince?

Because we don't know everything about footy injuries - see Mitch Clark and Jack Trengove.

Daniel Wells had a foot injury after being stepped on last year. North kept trying to get him right all season and never thought it was much of an initial injury. All of a sudden he missed the whole year.

If it was just a bit of bruising and he has no issues after training today then I'd play him. But if there's still soreness we should be cautious. 1 nab challenge game really wont change much in the scheme of things.

If he's fit play him, the sooner we get Hogan, Dawes and Watts to gel together the better. Would love to see them have a combined total of 8 to 12 goals between them even though they are playing a ordinary team with key players out, it will take my mind off Clark anyway.

Are they really expecting a sell out for NAB challenge?

not named: brayshaw, harmes, howe, hunt, kent, king, o-mac, anb, petracca, spencer, riley, terlich, trengove, vince, white

take out injured, you are left with: brayshaw, harmes, hunt, kent, king, o-mac, spencer, riley, terlich, white

do we take from this that the above guys will be very unlikely to play round 1? some young guys there understandably but if I was Riley, Terlich and Spencer I would be worried. Kent must be being managed

strange approach Roosey is taking, usually NAB is seen as getting 2 games into all fit players but he is treating it like firming his 22. fair enough i say! just different to his usual style.

Kent bruised heel from Freo game. Expected back next week.

I've just joined up to AFL live pass so I can watch todays game. Does anyone know if it can be chromecast to the TV? I assume that I can watch it on my computer and I don't have to have a mobile or tablet to see it.

Thanks for any help.

As I am in Hong Kong this week, l won't be able to catch the telecast. I would love to return back to the hotel room (and wifi) tonight to find plenty of posts on today's match. I am looking forward to report of a big win.

Just a heads up, I am MFC/MCC member and when I tried to buy members tickets for today it said not bald for this event after entering my barcode. Fair enough , as I don't get access to games with my membership. Just thought I would share in case other MFC/MCC members were planning on presenting membership card at the gate. You may not get in. Although in my experience that membership has always got me free access to NAB cup games, or at least it did at Princes Park when we played essendon two years ago or so

Did the club say it was going to stream the broadcast?

Therefore, if you watch on your tablet, (not app based) can you then AirPlay it?

I need some guidance on this as well.

Ed; can I recall Ethan Tremblay saying he had a 'particular' fix for these issues?

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int
