We know the upgrade of three spots at the pointy end is actually worth quite a bit. Then to also get pick 19 would mean that Howe is worth to GC somewhere around pick 10-15 (in my subjective point of view).

I think the consensus on here is that he is a second rounder roughly. So even though i would love getting this, i cant see it happening (the 6 to 3 and a third rounder is much more realistic & fair i think).

And makes the pick 25 to Melksham a lot better if we have pick 19...

I think we should do pick 6, 25 and howe to GC for picks 3 and 19. Give essendon the pick we get for Toumpas.

Won't happen but just a thought

I don't think it will happen either. In my view, the price that the manager and Howe have put on his head is just too high for a one trick pony. While I would not be sorry to trade JH for something that may boost our stocks further, I would also not be surprised if a potential trade fell through because of the price being asked.

There's talk on SEN that Melbourne and Collingwood are starting negotiations for a trade that will see Howe swap places with Ben Kennedy.

Surely we're deserving of a pick along with Kennedy.

You would think so. A second round pick and Kennedy would be good. We can then on trade that pick for Melksham.

Or if that's too much, a third round pick we can trade for Bugg.

Don't want to deal with the pies. They are known for dragging deals on and they do not have the picks to satisfy us. If it is gold coast, Maybe just get the toumpas compo and give to to the suns along with howe and pick 19

if roos, Toumpas comp + howe for pick 15

Just send Toump to port for a second rounder and get on with it!

Lots of clubs are known for dragging deals on, because some clubs don't want to give an inch and would like to get something in return. GWS want something big for Treloar, is that Collingwood's fault? Essendon want pick 5 from StKilda.

There's a few dominoes to fall first to allow other trades to get through.

The old 'Not dealing with the Pies attitude' won't serve you well.

Many didn't want a bar of GWS after the Scully & Phil saga, but the Dees dealt with them for Tyson and secured Hogan through the mini-draft.

Howe and our third rounder to Collingwood for Kennedy and their second rounder? Sits well for me, and the (later) second rounder could be used on another prospective target, ie Melksham or Bugg.

I say we agree to the best deal offered, and if Howey boy doesn't like it he can go into the PSD or main draft and try his luck. He isn't much more than a journey man, and he's not someone we'll miss or miss the pick from.

It wasn't quite like that.

Brett Anderson said that he "thinks" Collingwood is Howe's preference, however, Collingwood have other deals they have to focus on before they could turn their attention to Howe. Other clubs have good offers before Howe, so it's not like Howe will only go to Collingwood.

I can see us waiting a week because Collingwood want to give us the 2nd rounder they are to receive from St Kilda for Freeman.

Fun & games for all.

Additionally offers to Howe have been tabled by GC & North, an offer from Collingwood not yet on the table.

Once that's in, I expect the decision will be communicated, but it may take another day or two yet.

Not doubting that but it's also about how desperate the buyer is. If North think he could be the difference they'll pay overs for him. Doubt it will happen but not totally outside the realms of reality.

It's also that North has pick 15, not pick 25 (which I think is about correct weight), so they don't have the option of offering that.

Can only trade what you have or can get your hands on.

That's true that you can only trade what you have.

With so many speculative permutations and possibilities it's truly mind boggling what will come to fruition.

Interesting that North are interested in Howe. And I'm interested to see what their offer may be and whether it trumps GC/Coll.

Surely pick 15 is being offered by North, if they're to trump Collingwood and GC. It wouldn't be the Pies current first pick and if the Pies are after Aish and Treloar, I can't see them involved even if they are offering up Kennedy.

How about our pick 25 or even better a compo pick for say Toumpas ? (to Port for 29) and Howe for pick 15 return?

Where we could obtain Melksham with 29, keep 25, and have remaining 6, 15. Maybe Kennedy or Bugg for 3rd rounder (not sure if we could get both) and if we're somehow in the ball park where GWS are holding strong on the right deal for Treloar - offer them what they want 6 & 15 (2 x first rounders). Surely that trumps the Pies??

Holding onto 25 for our first pick.

IN: Treloar, Melksham, Bugg, (maybe Kennedy....PSD??)

OUT: Toumpas, Howe

Long shot, but from hearing Gubby this morning, GWS are looking for a better deal, other than Collingwood.

Did I just say that all out loud...

Can you make that happen H_T

North will offer pick 15, they chasing a flag won't wait for kids to develop, if they do then we should take it.

seriously doubt that would be a dream

The Ox has called Howe to Collingwood. Really dont know what we'd want from them. Kennedy and a third round still feels unders considering what might be on the table from North and the Suns.
