Any confirmation from Garry Lyon on this?

That would be worth waiting for, yet low-key discussion will help the MFC if he turns out to be a potential gun, as well.

Viney, Stretch, Lovett, Davey, Lyon... maybe even a Stynes!

To quote the Blues Brothers...."we're getting the band back together"

Can't wait for multiple years of disappointment, a Grand Final flogging, and a wooden spoon to boot! Encore, encore!

You did notice the date on what you quoted, didn't you?

If it makes you feel any better, statistics prove that most premiership players are not sons of premiership players.

What level is that and how old is he?

I see a son of G Lyon kicking 8 goals, I take note.

Puts on muscle, encourages fearlessness, cardiovascular conditioning. Sounds OK to me. Given his father is Gary Lyon, I'd reckon he would be receiving heaps of appropriate advisories, preparation and further training, plus some skills transmission along the way as there are still a few years left to shine. It's all good news at this point. With the Wizard's son making progress and nearing a meaningful footballing age as well, things are really shining. There may be hope, afterall.

How old is Josh???

I remember like it was yesterday, walking out of Waverly stadium, September 1987, and saying to  crowing Hawks supporter. "Do not worry, we will get revenge" They  laughed and are still laughing at us 32 years later.

A good to very good nursery for upcoming footballers - competitive environment, too.

I am all for father/son players as long as they not pumped up to be better players than they actually are, nor touted as captain material and fast tracked to be the next captain and the fathers recuse themselves from positions that lead to potential conflicts of interest between family and club. That’s the way it is ...is it not?

This is not the father son we should be interested in. Kobe is the one.

Sorry but don't think we'll be seeing Koby in the red and blue in the near future.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
