I'm at a loss as to why he has drawn so much criticism as compared to other training reporters.

Somehow some on this site have forgotten that you comment on the post/story/report not on the person behind it.

Debating an alternative view by attacking/ deriding the poster just makes the attackers point look weak.

I've been busy posting a lot more than usual and that's been in response to a lot of great reports and thoughts produced by some on here in recent times.

It's sad the small minority who have derailed so much by saying so little. I'm pretty thick skinned and love to engage in a debate, it helps with consolidating my thoughts, but in a battle of wits, as they say, some here are unarmed & rely on abuse to make themselves feel affective.

To give reasons why, it is not the personal insults, that's just like the schoolyard where the kid wants to big note himself, they end up falling over in the end

I am just getting bored with a small minority sniping at everything and everybody, some think they are being funny, they're not,

I am guilty myself sometimes of retaliating, but so are others who just get sick of the same minority, you can only turn the other cheek so many times

I am nearly over Demonland

The AGM thread turned into a tanking debate, that was over ages ago, the AGM was a positive experience for most, but can it just be like that, hell no let's start raking up history again

We have a thread about Colin Sylvia, who gives a flying, he ceased to be a player two years ago, let's dedicate a thread or topic to Jack Fitzpatrick, an easy target on here, who has persevered through Chronic Fatigue, serious shoulder issues and Diabetes to keep himself on the list, when others, supposedly a lot better player than him, are being delisted. Let's debate what size balls he has to keep rocking up

I tried to provide a bit of a more personal insight into the training, obviously this is not appreciated by some, I am not sure why, perhaps instead of just sniping , they would like to explain why

I just tried to provide a bit of colour to anybody, who unlike the lucky few, can't actually get to a training session

We have some really good reporters as well, which I acknowledge, Ruffles and George on the Outer, to name a couple, going to the same session, I don't agree with some things they write, but I can write why and they debate it the whole idea of a forum

The other thing I allowed was for myself to be identified, both in writing and in photographs, I have nothing to be ashamed of I don't hide behind a keyboard or nickname, I have no respect whatsoever for those that do and snipe at those that don't

Saty, I'm another one who never posts but always read your training reports and much appreciate the effort you go to in everything including the personal insights and banter with the players. I hope you keep it up.

To the haters, have you guys ever thought that maybe a really passionate supporter like Saty might actually give the players a bit of a boost at training? I agree that he has a pretty optimistic view on most players particularly the fringe players but maybe if more on here had similar views it might give these players the added confidence they need to improve rather than coming on here and reading the dribble that's been spoken of them over the last few years? Do you think hawthorn or sydney supporters put so much pressure and criticism on their younger less skilled players? Doubtful. Its funny though how its these more successful clubs that develop their less skilled low draft picks into decent players. Obviously the coaches and senior players have the biggest impact but I think it would be ignorant to think that supporters and public forums like this have no impact. We've got the coaches and some more senior players maybe the supporters are the last link in the chain?

Obviously some of these guys aren't so young but when they aren't needed anymore they won't be on the list, I'm sure the club can figure that out. If they're on the list be a supporter and support!

Maybe even support the supporters.....

Less than a month to go before the opening of our NAB Challenge campaign and no doubt the training sessions will step up a gear from here.

I'm assuming there's the usual 9.15am session on tomorrow at Gosh's Paddock and look forward to reports from those who can make it down there.

While robust debate is important on Demonland, some posters are acting under the assumption that they have license to engage in personal attacks on those with whose opinions they disagree.

Please remain respectful of other posters and be careful if you wish to keep posting here.

Thanks.

It will be nice to discuss a player's down side in relation to football and not be labelled a "player basher".

I think the personal attacks are ridiculous, but they have historically come from all angles, and quite a few from the perceived "victim".

The training threads provide some value, but it would be nice if the discussion could be kept fair, open and honest.

Thanks for all your opinions. Satyr, it would be sad if you allowed the small number of detractors to silence you on this site. By withdrawing, you allow them to win.

Now ... let's have reports on training (I hope it's on after all this) which is what these threads are for.

Don't pay any attention to the crap posted by some on this site.

As a country member I (and I'm sure many others) greatly enjoy your reports and look forward to them.

So keep posting and trust the mods to keep the discussion on track!

Yes I remember.

I agree with your sentiments. Keep posting Saty we country members need you, even when we disagree.

Thanks WJ, I will be there tomorrow, but I am afraid there will be no further postings from me, whatever I glean from the players from now on will be kept to myself, or those I chat to, to everybody who follows me on Twitter, I will still be posting the pictures

This should solve the problem for the mods, nobody needs the garbage that occurs, hopefully a few others will attend and give a run down on what happened,

Dont have twitter and have always respected your thought's.

Bugger everybody else, just give this country supporter your impression's and inside mail.

Cant believe you let the imposter's spoil your day.

Just post TDI/saty and get the news out.

TDI, you have to do what is best for you. But I, like a number of others, love your reports and will think Demonland a lesser place without them.

Next time I drop past (usually on my bike on the way to work) I am happy to get you a coffee from Edwin's as a small token of thanks for your work.

I know it is hard Saty but ignore them and come back.

By all means do training reports, but don't waste our time telling us our opinions are wrong becuase you've watched every minute of every training session or getting all in a huff because someone dare be critical of a player.

Nail on the head

We all have opinions, in a mature society we cater for this.

I disagree with many posts here, sometimes I bite, more often I move on.

I do not agree with everything Saty or anyone else here posts, but that diversity of opinion is what makes sites like this work. If we all agree on everything it would be pointless.

TDI, toughen up princess, write your reports and stuff those who disagree.

To the negative nancies, argue your point and don't disparage your opponent. Dissident views are important and I for one am interested but i'll be damned if I will tolerate the personal denigration that goes on here sometimes.

Go Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!

I like this very much. It was worth noting what's happened with Col, but I won't speculate on what people got out of keeping it going. And Fitzy is the anti-Col, deserving our commendation however it goes for him.

Almost the entire second page of the thread was deleted. I wouldn't take it personally. (I didn't delete them and don't know what was in them.)

I hope we can continue all training threads including the photos.

I wrote on a previous training thread

"I have been reading some research on salmingrunning.com about aspects of footwear and effects on the body,(feet, legs, knees, hips). One of the things that is mentioned is the effects of heel strike and overstriding.

Many of the pics particularly those when in kicking action show both these factors. There is a shot of Jones kicking and retaining a moderate stride and mid foot contact.

It might be just a small thing but its the detail that your great shots show 666 .

One of the papers evidenced that cushioning of the heel through footwear advances has not reduced injury and may lead to complaceny and lack of consideration of technique. At elite and high performance level these small matters can make a difference.

Hope the correct running and movement techniques are being applied with our footwear supplier and through close appraisal by our fitness, health and coaching staff."

While this is obviously an extreme comment it did arise from my interest in footwear and my knowledge of our clubs record with foot related injuries. It was the quality of training reports and the usual follow up that rporters provide that enticed me to make the point. I would not be happy to be denigrated for this extreme position but am happy to take comment about it.

Everybody had a chance to have their say and from that point onwards the thread was for training reports only.

I allowed for a couple of posts in support of TDI because he has been a fantastic contributor to the site and deserves our support but the rest was white noise and quite frankly, mostly disrespectul of those who do contribute reports and of the sentiments posted in the OP so they got exactly what they deserved.

Thanks

To be fairly honest, the training sessions are the main reason I check out Demonland in the off season. Without them means I'd just go to the MFC website instead.

So, can we ask Saty nicely to come back, any report is better than none. Or are we too self important to suck it up?

Please Saty I am sorry the neanderthals sorry the naysayers keep picking on you. Please come back. I will even refer to you at TDI if that helps.

Note to self: Do not make personal remarks that may offend. Mind you most would go over the troglodytes heads.

It's pretty pathetic that a handful of idiots who are so bored they need to argue and belittle posters who deliver great and valuable information, have to ruin it for the rest of us.

Much like BRFE I rarely post in the off season and the only thing I come to read are the training reports, which always turn into a shitfight because a select few need to give us their unwarranted opinion.

These posters should be banned from responding to training reports, rather than the majority of us getting to miss out on great insight.

Training reports anyone?

What did Bernie have to say about his progress? Oh that's right nothing cause no one who writes reports spoke to him.
