  1. Saty, I'm another one who never posts but always read your training reports and much appreciate the effort you go to in everything including the personal insights and banter with the players. I hope you keep it up. To the haters, have you guys ever thought that maybe a really passionate supporter like Saty might actually give the players a bit of a boost at training? I agree that he has a pretty optimistic view on most players particularly the fringe players but maybe if more on here had similar views it might give these players the added confidence they need to improve rather than coming on here and reading the dribble that's been spoken of them over the last few years? Do you think hawthorn or sydney supporters put so much pressure and criticism on their younger less skilled players? Doubtful. Its funny though how its these more successful clubs that develop their less skilled low draft picks into decent players. Obviously the coaches and senior players have the biggest impact but I think it would be ignorant to think that supporters and public forums like this have no impact. We've got the coaches and some more senior players maybe the supporters are the last link in the chain? Obviously some of these guys aren't so young but when they aren't needed anymore they won't be on the list, I'm sure the club can figure that out. If they're on the list be a supporter and support! Maybe even support the supporters.....
  2. Hopefully its just from an old footy injury as it says in the article. I see your point georgiou but Stynes wouldn't be included in that study because he initially had skin cancer and the sun shines everywhere! I think Baileys was a rare chest wall tumor? Daniher has motor neuron disease and Flower had a sudden unexpected illness? I guess its possible they were all exposed to some type of chemical that causes a variety of illnesses but my guess would be just serious bad luck.
  3. Did any of you go guys hear what barrett had to say about Clark on the footy show last night? I had it on but was on the phone and didn't hear everything but heard him say that if he was to play on next year that it would be at a melbourne club and not in perth. Think I heard gary ask him a question about the demons but didn't hear the reply? Yes I know he's a [censored] but still interested as to what he said.
  4. Yes I thought exactly the same thing after watching it but I thought it might have been preplanned between them with both knowing he was coming back but couldn't say anything about it.
  5. and then where can you sit - only general admin on level 3 or something? I'm a 3 game member but paid $45 for a category 3 seat in M12. It said on the ticketek site that it would be $24 for an adult member upgrade but then there was nowhere I could select that option and had to pay the full price? Does anyone know if I can get the difference back?
  6. Did we not have the same forward line last year? We keep hearing from Roos (who ought to know) that Hogan, Dawes and Clark are out and we therefore have no forward line but how many games did they play last year? Hogan - 0 Clark - 4 Dawes - 12 Granted we were equally [censored] last year but didn't we have the highest conversion rate for inside 50's in the comp? We also kicked decent scores in a number of games and this is with no midfield. Remember the fears about having too many forwards with Fitzy and Howe in good form? I didn't watch the game last week but if you ask me it sounds like too much importance has been put on the 3 big forwards by those who ought to know and the other guys who were decent in the forward line last year have been forgotten about because last year is irrelevant due to a percentage of 54. All this talk then leaves the players with a boosted midfield and improved clearances and inside 50's but in doubt about who to kick it to because those who ought to know won't shut up about having no forward line. Hence the sideways and backwards ball movement leading to turnovers.
  7. Found an old video of a roos interview on the couch. Its interesting to hear what he says about the players he brought to sydney from about 2:35, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6IMUOe-fqY He speaks about targeting players for specific roles and to be in the best 22. He also says "we never have a scattergun approach".
  8. AmericanDemon??? ....... "I'm pretty sure I could have kicked that one, and i'm a Yank."
  9. Interesting that his signing was announced the day after the PP decision. Maybe the club didn't want to announce it any earlier to leave a bit of doubt with the commission?
