I think that comes from both sides of this argument if you look closely enough.

I really have difficulty with the subjective and biased sycophants too, there aren't too many around fortunately. If the writer's prejudices distort the information then the writer's words cease to mean anything.

I am not quite sure whether this is based around me, seems to be a word I get a lot, I get on with the players and can approach them and have a chat, I try and get information that readers will find different, I get told lots of stuff I don't put on here either because I don't think I should or the players ask me not to. They all know I post here and all feel it is a good way, apart from the Club website, to connect to the supporters

If you ever go to training, go up and have a chat, the players like it, the most approachable are of course Watts, Vince, Viney but all of them will chat, the less words include Garlett, Michie, Matt Jones, so if you want a conversation stay away from them haha

I don't sugar coat, I just give my opinion, I try and put when something untoward happens, the Dunn/Viney incident, Tyson getting ripped into by Roos, Terlich getting blasted by Nathan Jones, I just get a bit bored describing the drills and Ruffles and George do a way more better job than me anyway

But if you want a question answered, either by me or a player, put it here, you will get an answer from me, don't care whether you like it or not, and if I can get to the player will get you an answer, and in Daniel Croos' case brutally truthful

Carry on

Thanks everyone for the reports, lots of people who never post(like me) and never have a hope of attending a training session really do appreciate the effort that you guys put in to it.

I will be in Bangkok August/September, yes I know not the best time. I never book holidays at finals time just in case. Thought I would risk it this year, it may be an omen? I would fly home for a GF.

I wish I was sure of winning Tattslotto

Enjoy the holiday

I have you on ignore TDI but i thought i would respond to this.

By your own admission you "dont like to discuss players weaknesses" and admittedly that is paraphrasing, I can't possibly go back through all of your posts and find the statement/s. This makes you an unreliable source of info by your own admission.

You have consistently berated other posters for "player bashing" when they have questioned a player's kicking style, intensity or endurance.

This takes away enormously from your credibility.

I, like others here, have had the pleasure of watching many a training session with TDI. Have moved out of Australia so no longer get the chance sadly. TDI doesn't hesitate in expressing his opinion and is very much a half glass full type, but the sycophant comments get a bit much, just because he doesn't bash the players publicly doesn't mean he doesn't express his opinion.

He actually told Tappy last year that he will be in trouble if he can't remain on the park for a sustained period, something that proved to be true. Rather than expressing doubts about people here, he says it to the players face, not exactly what I would consider being a sycophant.

agree on both statements. this site like others is just a representation of the biases, knowledge differences and divergent views of society. There is your right wing, left wing and moderates, including a few offbeat independants.

these sites are what they are. you read or don't read depending on your interest and whether you can take a light hearted view towards the silly stuff. it's like going to a bullfight. you can put up with the gory bits like when the bull puts his horns through the horse but you admire the bull and the skills of the matador. despite it all, the training reports are great and there a lot of well informed posters which make for interesting reading. gotta be a tragic though.

Jeez Ernie I thought you got that bullfighting stuff out of your system years ago.

I do agree they get a bit much and far too personal and I don't usually get involved. I am not in any camp, I draw my own conclusions.

You won't get a balanced view from TDI on here, and that is by his own admission... unless he has suddenly changed his philosophy.

The part that I and I think others find incredibly annoying is TDI attempting to quash any reasonable discussions of a player's weaknesses and I have seen this happen many times.

It is just silly.

Wow poor Tappy.. I'm pretty sure he was aware of the predicament he was in.. Lol how do you say that to someone and avoid awkwardness? Where's the filter lol

And therein lies the problem sweet and sour dee.

Indeed.

Really?

Bit of honesty too much for you?

Think you will find it was said in a friendly conversation and Tappy agreed that if his body couldn't hold together he was going to be in strife.

This is gold. You should do comedy. Everyone should say 'on the one hand'....

Who cares? Don't read it.

Whether or not he reads it doesn't change the fact he is 100% correct.

What is a balanced view? If someone reports that a player for whom you have little regard is working his guts out and looking good in the pre season is that unbalanced?

We all approach this with an intensely personal perspective that substantially compromises logic - absolute truth does not exist in this universe (unless you are recording disappointment).

Thanks TDI. Much appreciated.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
