The Devil Inside

Recommended Posts

I am going down there again tomorrow, any questions you would like answered if I can get them, any stupidity will get the disdain it deserves, I already asked Jason Taylor who we are going to take at 3 (he was there on Wednesday), for some reason he wouldn't tell me

Or any pics, though you will need to go to Twitter for them

Noticed on the AFL site that Bontempelli has put on 7kg of muscle over the break and is moving very well at WB training.

Is there anyone on our list who has put on considerable size over the last 8 wks and is looking better for it? Toump, Salem, TMac?

Cheers.

No early appointments for me today and so I turned up to training first hour. The first hour was a tough fitness session with all players sweating it out. Endurance running and sprint routines were the measure of the morning. I was very impressed with the size, speed and endurance of The Hulk. Hogan kept pace with McDonald in the 5 minute run and then passed him in the last 20 seconds. This is very impressive for a big bloke who missed a whole year of endurance running against arguably our fittest, endurance player. I was also impressed with the size of Frost. This guy is a Man Mountain. I hope he can play because he sure has the physic. When I left players were changing into footy boots, no doubt other will be able to give a more interesting account.

I have tried to upload some photos. Having some issues. Would appreciate the heads up on how to do this.

Lumumba is back! From Club website:

HERITIER Lumumba has started training with his new club – a few days earlier than expected.

The 2010 Collingwood premiership player was set to start with Melbourne on Monday, but fronted up for Friday’s training session at Gosch’s Paddock.

Lumumba looked sharp as he joined in with his new teammates.

The 199-gamer crossed from Collingwood during the October trade period.

The 2010 All-Australian finished fourth in Collingwood’s best and fairest in 2014.

Lumumba looms an integral part of Melbourne’s prospects next year and in the coming seasons.

Fab pics of players training today: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2014-11-14/exclusive-lumumbas-first-training-run

The shoulder injury (naturally) seems to have caused Bernie some muscle loss but all the players look in good nick!

I went again, quick run down, warmup, kick, run, handball, kick, run, mark, kick, handball, run.....the skills are on the improve

Going to put some photos on my Twitter, Demonpk, including Hogan

Mr Lumumba was there, looks super fit, had a chat to him, lovely guy

Bernie Vince acknowledged the shoulder was a bit light, no contact till January for him

First time seen McKenzie and Jetta, both looking really fit although McKenzie has had the gastro that has been floating around the club

Had a good chat to Nev, he has been working out at a boxing gym three days a week over the break, and on his running, disappointed that Dom Barry chose to leave, had a chat with him whilst Dom was deciding what to do, said Dom was coachable, a professional trainer etc etc, contrary to some of the rubbish on here

Had a chat to Howie, posted in the Leaving topic

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
