Bulldogs want pick 2 or 3

Dogs say Luke Dahlhaus is going nowhere

MELBOURNE's attempt to lure Luke Dahlhaus away from the Whitten Oval has been rebuffed, after the creative forward's name was raised in trade discussions between the clubs.

AFL.com.au understands the Western Bulldogs want to move from pick No. 5 to Melbourne's selection No. 2 in the draft, which would allow the club to snare one of this year's two highly-touted junior tall forward prospects, Peter Wright or Patrick McCartin.

If they want to move up to get the forward they cherish they'd wanna offer a very nice player or its not happening.

Over to you, Doggies.

Interesting to see this rumour is gaining a bit of momentum.

And you're right - if they want Pick 2 so badly they will have to part with something good to get it moving, otherwise no deal.

Bontempelli ?? ;-) *?spelling, but we all know too well who he is and what he can do ;-((

Let's not forget, though, this is us moving from 2 to 6, not just giving up 2. Great chance to pull off a Tyson-sequel trade, with a club desperate for a tall. Who would we want, that they would realistically put up?

The Dogs need to realise that such an ambition certainly "Wont Come Cheap"

They will need to put someone like McRae on the table if they want to trade up

I honestly just don't rate Hrovat enough for him to be the catalyst for this trade, but struggle to think who else they'd offer.

Clay Smith? Underwhelmed.

Wallis likewise, and when would a club ever trade a father-son?

Pick 2 lands them mccartin something they desperately need

Mcrae, stringer, dahlhaus, libba, Wallis&hrovat

Combined with pick 6 I'd be fairly happy with

It's the Dogs that want to move up in the draft order, not us who want to move down. They're the one's who are going to have to give a little more than what they want to, if they are that desperate for KPF.

Just give them a list of players that they can choose to send to us, if they aren't willing to do it, then no deal. Simple Dogs, you will have to bow to us to get your high pick.

IF we have pick 2 and 3, a shuffle with the bulldogs could work beautifully.

Keep 2, we take Petracca, which pleases them because the talls they want will still be there.

Get their pick, grab Brayshaw.

Gain a steak knife or two - maybe advancing a later round pick into something a bit more useful.

Of course, it all still hinges on the assumption that St Kilda want a tall with their pick 1.

We hold all the cards in this trade. No reason for us to do this trade unless we get something seriously excellent in return.

Pay up or get lost Dogs

If we trade them pick 2, we are at no risk of losing Petracca (considering he doesn't go pick one) or Brayshaw, as Bulldogs are going to pick either Mccartin or Wright.

This deal could be hugely beneficial for us, if we can get our hands on a Dalhaus, Stringer, Hrovat/Wallis type.

Absolutely. We are just moving down 4 spots so no way will they give up a Macrae, Bont, Stringer.

Dahlaus is a good player but someone they may let slip to get a key forward.

A pick 2 + pick 20? (2nd round) for Pick 6 and Dalhaus is fair considering they want pick 2.

They are chasing hard and we've put a fair trade so if they don't like, we walk away.

Mcrae and Libba are the only Bulldogs I'd be interested in. Unless they put them up (they won't), I'd be looking elsewhere.

Would depend on what the AFC want out of their trade with us for Dangerfiled. They may be after a tall.

We must only consider dealing with the dogs for an elite mid

Not going to deal for "Steak Knives"

Dogs are dreaming....stupid Mutts !!

The problem is that I can't see them even considering giving up a Libba, Bont, Stringer or Macrae. Just won't happen. I know we might want it to, but it won't.

What the club needs to assess is if someone like Dahlhaus is worth the trade - Pick 3, with a promise to overlook a tall at Pick 2, for Pick 6 and Dahl would probably work for me. Wallis doesn't interest me much and they don't have much else I'd be interested in.

Deal 2 or 3 for this, it won't matter cos they're only doing it for a KPF, so essentially they're dealing Dalhaus and pick 6 for a power forward that they desperately need. I'd expect Melbourne to do this if the shoe was on the other foot

Just looking through their list

if they wanna move to pick 2 it would take McRae, Bontempelli or Stringer with their pick 6

And we know they wont trade any of them

you dont think GWS might want a Mid? more than like Petracca will be pick 1. then brayshaw will either go to us at 3 or GWS at 4 youd think

"It is also believed Dahlhaus would not entertain a move to Melbourne."

Well you're a [censored] then Luke.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
