Presenting The Ollie Whines Lounge. A place where all the ollie whiners can come to mingle.

What's that? Ollie Wines had 46 disposals, 18 clearances, 14 tackles and kicked 7 goals? Need to cry into someone's shoulder?

This is the place for you.

Forget creating new threads to tell the world how angry you are.

Forget "gee that Wines kid goes alright, thanks Mark" in every second thread.

This is your one stop shop for the great big sook.

In The Ollie Whines Lounge, you can bleat and moan to your heart's content, free from the judgement of others. Never again will your insistence that you "knew Wines would be a star" fall on deaf, uninterested ears.

Enjoy our unrivalled selection of tissues and hard liquor.

Relax on our vinyl couches where the tears just roll right off.

For the dead eye dicks, you will find our dart boards, each with a bullseye featuring either Mark Neeld or that awful Jimmy Toumpas. Show your friends who really wanted Wines more.

After hours and feeling that impending mix of sadness and anger? Retreat to our Self Flagellation Room (proudly sponsored by BBO).

Whine in comfort and style in The Ollie Whines Lounge.

And when you leave, please, for the love of god, shut the [censored] up about Ollie Wines.

I've been one to try to disassociate the Wines vs Toumpas decision, just focus on our player make him the best we can. But jeez I was devasted reading his stats from last night.

Ollie Wines if nothing else is a topical and relevant reminder that we need to get drafting right.

We obviously didtn do our dilligence well ( if at all )

Some seem happily dismissive of this.

Yep..we cant change that fukk up bit should serve as sobering incentive to get better at it.

Jack Watts is probably loving Wines' good form. It takes attention away from the Watts vs. NikNat debate (especially now that people are noticing NikNat is more sizzle than steak).

Darling, Shuey, Martin, hell, some fool even suggested we dudded ourselves with the Tyson trade because 'we could have drafted Lewis Taylor'.

Some people will always sink into the second guessing and ever so superior hindsight.

I really hope this thread works and keeps that sludge out of the main threads.

Watching the game I was thrilled for him in what was a great performance. Loved watching a tough, young player tear it ip in a final.

Each to their own.

It's a very easy game for the feeble-minded. Scan a list of any draft, pick any good player in the whole comp that was taken after any Melbourne pick and get cracking on the negativity

What they don't seem to realise is that you go to the forum for 17 other clubs and do exactly the same thing

I don't mind supplying the equipment (and technical advice if required) but I want everything cleaned up before it is returned.

Don't know if this theory has been Touted but I just wonder" wonder" if Viney chose Toumpas because he might have had his Son's best interests at heart. I mean to say Wines is twice the player Viney is, even maybe more so. Hnmm some food for thought!

That would be so far from the truth to be funny. He would want his son playing in a good midfield and successful side, with his good mate.

You need more than 1-2 good mids to be a good side.

So why didn't he take him????? And if we don't point the finger at Neeld then Why when he knew the ability of Wines, was his sons best mate and wanted to come to the dees?

WHY ??????

Well for once it's good to be in minority even though it does my head in!

I think the Toump over whines selection is just a continuation of nearly a decade's worth of choosing "the wrong option" at the MFC up until PJ came in and appointed Roos anyway.

We've paid a massive price for many years of sub par decision making both off and on the field. After so many dumbass deceisions, appointments and selction mistakes It will take twice as long to try and resurect this club.

I would advise any member who hasn't already done so to go out and buy yourself about 100 cases of your fav WHINE. I reckn by the time you're onto the 100th case you might finally start to see some light. In the meantime you won't remember any of the crap being dished up on the field.

Because at the time 90% of the football industry thought toumpas was better picket fence.

which means I'll listen to the OTHER 10% then

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
