Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]

Dalhaus is a very good player and I would definitely trade down a few picks to get him. Especially if we sense that Brayshaw will still be around at pick 6.

And yes, accepting pick 33 for Clark would be a disgrace, but still better than Varcoe or any other of Geelong's dud players.

I'll spew if that [censored] leaves us and all we get is pick 33.

Relax dude. It'll be pick 35 or 36 after free agency compensation.

Typical..

Dayne Beams wants to go home to his sick father and Collingwood playing absolute hare ball and stiff refusing pick 4.

Mitch Clark leaves after all the investment, money, faith and medical we have put into him and we are just happy to accept pick 33

FFS grow some balls MFC!!

Beams is a bonafide star who plays most games. Mitch Clark is a broken down depressive who's mental illness was precipitated by recurring, chronic soft tissue problems after breaking his navicular bone...

I think some perspective is needed here.

Getting sick of this lay down roll over oussy club!

We should have put up a fight about the 'no draft assistance ruling' - at least that is backed up by a rule of the effing game.

This is just happenstance piercing our O-ring - Clark is not worth what he was worth and clubs won't pay what we think they should, precisely because he can go into the draft.

We can stand on principle if we want to - but we will be howling at the moon, and how we will be howling if Pick 33 turns into something for the Cats?

I've found this whole Mitch Clark furore interesting. We didn't have him several months ago, we had nothing, he was gone. Now we've got the opportunity to add a creative, running halfback to our list (which fills a gaping hole) without losing any draft picks; just a bloke who's busted and we previously thought was gone.

This is a big win for us in the context of the whole year. Everyone is talking Clark is going to get there and dominate, my suspicion is those delicate Hammies aren't gonna take too long.

Where did pick 33 come from? In his press conf yesterday Roos was saying that Geelong have taken Clark because they intend to play him and add value to their team and we want full value in return. He seemed to be talking about a pick closer to their 1st round pick. Maybe if he takes pick 33 (their 2nd) there will be a player attached to it.

Posted (edited)

Could it be Clark and our 2nd rounder for their 1st and 3rd pick?

Edit - for Redleg's sake. It was just easier.

I still believe that the Dees have not fought hard to keep either of Frawley or Clark. They either know or feel something about both and are happy to "trade up" and let both go. Perhaps it is different behind closed doors but there has been a distinct lack of passion from the club about keeping both players. You could see Roos fire up about Free Agency and equalisation so he can come out swinging - interesting that he hasn't about Frawley and Clark.

Frawley can be a great player but hasn't been his blustering, monstering self for 2 seasons, and Clark looks cooked to me.

I can't believe I feel this way, but I actually trust the club with this!! I can't remember the last time I felt this about the MFC.

Pies won't make it that easy. I'm going to the bombers charged and redacted thread for a little pick me up, always does the trick!

I think it's a case of hating the game rather than hating those that play it, in particular, Frawley. There's a system in place that eligible players are able to utilise, and he has done just that.

I totally disagree with Frawley's form though. He's still monstering the backline, probably more than ever, it's just the sheer volume of entries that has been killing him. He will go to Hawthorn and he will continue to monster opposition forwards, especially when the ball is coming in considerably less than what it has been.

Clark is a different story. But I think both are not nice characters, just one is a bigger one than the other.

Edit - again, for redleg's sake.

I'd be rapt to get pick 33 for a bloke that's played 15 games in 3 years. It would be ludicrous to 'send him to the draft on principle' rather than take pick 33.

Send the pick straight to Collingwood for Lamumba and take the 60 decent games and fanatical training standards Lamumba will provide.

Would swap 3 for 6 plus Hrovat. never going to get Daulhas as was mention hes the face of jnr membership and is a key player for them. You need to target fringe young player that will seek greater opportunity at Dees and Hrovat is that guy. With the dogs midfeild depth and there desperation to draft a tall he might be gettable.

19 yo former round 1 pick, 12 games this year for total of 19 ave 18 pos this year.

Cut it out. There are lots of young people on this site. We don't need that on here.

Amazing that out of everything that is posted on here, you had an issue with that?

Fixed, just for you.

Got to at least ask them what is Mcartin or Wright worth to you, because they really are struggling for KPT'S

Yeah, they haven't seemed too concerned about losing either, but I thought it was telling that Roos praised Frawley and barely mentioned Mitch.

Billy I just saw it and reacted. I am amazed that you find it amazing that someone would be offended by the use of extremely foul and denigrating language, on a forum site used by young people and women.

Anyway well done on correcting things.

Exactly 'Pennant', if they want the KPP they are desperate to get then they have to pay the price and it's not Hrovat.

Considering we were getting nothing for Mitch, as he had retired. I think pick 33, which we can then off-load for Lumumba is a great deal.

Will that be enough for the pies, guessing they will want our pick 21 or what ever it ends up being.

They will and the last mob overpaid them for Dawes. Can't see that happening again.

For a player they don't want? Good luck with that. I will be [censored] if we have to pay more for him than what we get for Mitch.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
