Blease showed he is more sizzle than steak. He made a cameo with his running goal but I am running out of patience.

Same with Tappy. He shows promise here and there but he is on the knifes edge.

Roosy may have been a little disingenuous when he said Bleasey was getting picked merely on his Casey form. I am guessing part of it as well is to see if he can actually play.

i think they were reasonable. both showed the have some talent.

some more work under roos n they could both be quite valuable.

I hopre they play the rest of the season (provided they're giving us something) so we can get a better idea if they're capable at this level.

I honestly see a future for Tappy, that bump in the middle was a testament to his ability. Just needs to work on his pace, bloke is too bloody slow and can't handle the chase.

I'll take four close losses instead of fourteen 100 point losses.

Also I think Kent being the sub was a costly mistake, as was subbing Riley. I can almost forgive the Riley sub since I'm sure he's struggling for fitness, but Kent always has an impact. Tapscott should have been the sub, or, at the risk of being howled down, Blease.

I loved watching Tyson. Hard at it, goal kicking mid with good skills who creates play. We need another two of these next year.

Pretty good summary, although I'd like to see Roos stick with both for the rest of the season.

Neville Jetta is fast becoming a favourite. The speed today's game is played at make agility and keeping your feet hugely important, and Nev's agility and ability to keep his feet is first class, and he uses the ball well. Actually makes me wonder why he hasn't been more successful in the earlier part of his career.

Watts proved today why he is one of the most talked about and most frustrating player in the league. I would play him half back for the rest of the year. It is clearly his best position and we look so much better for it. Playing there he is forced to be actively engaged and he is better for it. Worst thing that happens is he gets negated by a defensive forward.

I thought the Grimes kick was a high degree of difficulty kick, in a situation that required the risk, that was errant by a centimetre.

Some will rue that, some will rue the Jones cockup or the Dawes pass to nobody. I rue the 20 minute patch where they got 5 goals out. Again. We're so, so close, but still walking away with an L to our form. Such a flattening feeling.

Everyone's forgetting who we played. Port were in terrible form coming into this match having lost 3 of their last 3 matches (2 of them at Adelaide oval) to IMO 2 very poor teams in Adelaide and the Tiges...and an in form Essendrug.

We have beaten all of those teams this year.

This should have been a decent win for us.... yet we still managed to allow a terribly out of form team to find their mojo a little and kick 6 unanswered goals in the first half. The game was won and lost right there.

Any other half decent team would have won that by 3 to 4 goals and the better clubs in a canter.
