Cannot agree with this at all.

I really look forward to this analysis, and though limited to 3 words find it pretty accurate; but today I wanted to add a couple of things as it was (unusually) a little negative

N Jones - good but fumbled ( at the end - must have been fatigue)

Viney - team first player (really does so much of the hard stuff that goes unrewarded or unrecognised)

Tyson - Great, just great (a couple of errors when trying to push it and while the team are fatigued and not presenting shouldn't be judged harshly)

JKH - Good in patches (he played a role and when involved was influential)

M Jones - Keeps on going (is crucial to structure and though may not have the polish, getting the ball means they don't have it!)

Terlich - repels attacks well (regardless of decision making he stops his opponent and get the ball - they can't kick a goal without it!)

I agree mate, I was very impressed with Kennedy-Harris today.

Spot on about Bail, Pedo and Jetta. Paul Roos working miracles.

I got the impression we were playing in a 28 degrees heat. Checked the official maximum temperature for Alice on Saturday and it was a mild and pleasant 20.7 degrees. Shouldn't cause sunstroke and shouldn't sap our energy for next week.

Kennedy-Harris was pretty good, he unfortunately tried to take on some of the port players a few times and either got caught or lost the ball, but all in all a good game from the young kid.

I think we can't always have it both ways. On the one hand we criticize when our players "don't take the game on" but on the other we complain when they get caught. My only criticism of JKH was a couple of times he could have given off a hand pass to other players streaming down field when he kicked it backwards into defence, but otherwise sound I thought. He was also asked to play down back on their smalls on occasions-rather strange I would have thought but no doubt Roos had his reasons.

It's not strange it is Roos continuing his 'education', we have a little gem on our hands, he didn't look out of place

I look forward to Joeboy's three word summaries. For mine he generally does a better job than the mainstream media in encapsulating the contest. Particularly when the media is obsessed with the "big story" of the week which means comment on no more than about 4 Melbourne players' performances a week so they can salivate over Gary Ablett, Travis Cloke and Patrick Dangerfield, week in, week out.

Having not being able to see or hear this game at all, I found this week's summary to be quite negative. My first thought was surprise but my second thought was that Joeboy has raised his own standards. He now expects more than noble losses - and I think that's great.

He was caught - I prefer he continued this approach - you win games by taking it the game on on certain occasions and he will learn when to and when not to. But cudo's to him for backing his own ability.

Chap it's what I told you about Jetta and Roos, Roos wanted Nev to get the shutdown role to become second nature first, then when he was comfortable with that, to use his natural ability to take the game on, I spoke to him at training on the Thursday before, he was excited about playing in the Indigenous Round and was confident he could shut down Wingard and others and then start create and take the game on, but Roos rule is defend first

I was a bit doubtful about how quickly Roos and his coaches could unlock the potential that has been below the surface in a few of our mid tier players, but I was wrong.

Nev also owes Jade Rawlings, it was Jade who went in to bat for him to keep him on the rookie list.

The good thing with Nev, he is still not confident that he will be retained, so he is going out each week to make them keep him
