GAME DAY - Round 11

Featured Replies

According to the AFL app, Toumpas is our sub and Moore is for Port

Edited by PJ_12345

FINAL INTERCHANGES
Melbourne: Christian Salem, Dom Tyson, Dean Terlich
Substitute: Jimmy Toumpas
Port Adelaide: Paul Stewart, Kane Cornes, Aaron Young

Substitute: Andrew Moore

Sorry was kidding about Jamar as the sub lol

Thought it would be obvious

GO DEMONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was stupid.

Onto the game, I like Toumpas as a sub, and am hoping really influences the game for a full 4 quartets. He's had good sub appearances now its time to assert himself.

We stop Boak in the middle, Gray at HF, Wingard deep and Polec off wing/HBF.

Come on Dees.

Unless Riley is injured this is a shocking move! Replacing a tough inside mid with an outside slow player in Toumpas? Even as sub I would question this logic. We are playing Port Adelaide who's strength is in its midfield!?? I hope they get this right!

I didn't mind it, I'd actually sub a ruckman against Port - or probably leave one at home.

If we get beaten by Port, it will be by their run, that is their weapon.

Quality stuff as always.

Please someone tell me Dwayne Russell isn't commentating today.

His hatred of Melbourne is bad enough, but when coupled with his love of Port Adelaide he somehow manages to get worse.

Right, so to counter their run late in the game we bring in Jamar..... After we've lost all the hitouts and are down by 12 goals...

Stopped listening 2 3AW sport's show when he replaced David Hookes. I can't stand Russell, a real waste of space.

Go away troll

More Rose Colored glasses than Elton John as always!

Give me a tough inside Mid anyday!!

OK. You can have Jimmy Magner.

I hope the two of you will be very happy together

Then you might stop bitchin' about Toumpas

Pleeeeeeese.

Nope we have Dermie and Shawie Just as bad!!

The conditions look great.

The conditions look great.

And the ground itself, although it also looks enormous which will benefit their endurance runners.

Nah, I didn't realize we had Dawes out (forgot he was suspended).

If we had Dawes in, I'd of left a ruckman at home - not subbed him.

Is it much bigger than the g? It might look bigger on tv because the cameras are low to the ground.

Holding the ball, you WHAT?????

Not 15, this is going to be a "long" day.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
