For those who wonder why Nev was rookied then elevated, he was in Casey's best 6 for the last 6 games of last season, including the finals they played in, BOG in first practice game for Casey this year then in best in 2nd and in the best 6 for the first 2 games of this year, so showing some form, spoke to him at training, feeling really good and super fit, been enjoying playing down at Casey...absolutely rapt he did the full pre season for the first time....able to finally show what he can do without worrying about coming back from injury or being underdone, body also more mature

Perhaps the change of coach makes a significant difference. Undoubtedly players respond differently to different coaches - perhaps Jetta responds better to Roos than his predecessors.

yep, the different emphasis on team values, such as responsible footy & tackling, as well as creating, makes him a better option now, than 3 years ago.

frame of mind also more mature, & ready. IMO. he's a good kid, always has been. he was always my favourite Koori player on our list since Whelan. Go Nev!

I've spoken to Neville a few times at various club functions. He is really a terrific fella. Very honest in his assessment of himself. I like the way he plays but he hasn't been able to grab a position with both hands. He is versatile to his own detriment because he moves around so much. I hope he can come of age if he gets a chance. I agree with the assessment that he could be a roos favourite if he can stop his man as a back. He will get a chance at some stage with the way he is having a crack.

If Jetta gets a game, the team is miles away from being competitive.

That is not really true.

He has a bit of sh-t in him, which few do. His form is very good at the moment. He is versatile. He will do the team things, tackle, smother, etc. While far from a star, how many do we actually have?

If he plays better than the bloke he replaces, that is a positive.

All the best to him, he's definitely on his last chance I think he has certainly earned this opportunity at restarting his career. If he hadn't been on the Melbourne list previously based on his form you wouldn't bat an eyelid at his elevation.

I think that he will do ok if he gets a run. I think that he has been stiff, has got himself injured when starting to build, and has been played out of position.

To me his best spot is as a midfielder. Not quick enough to be a defender.

I thought last year Jetta was really good before getting suspended. After his ban was over, that rocket scientist Mark Neeld let him waste away in the seconds for the rest of the year. Stick it up 'em, Jets!

He was the next most senior player on the list.

They had to elevate someone.

As I've said before, if he's on the park, this team is a long way off being competitive, week in, week out.

They didn't have to elevate someone, and they sure as hell didn't have to play him.

But there he is, playing in a team coached by Paul Roos but not playing under Mark Neeld... Which one of those guys would you trust more?

Rhetorical question....

But, my opinion is that Jetta has shown very little in five years and he's lucky to be on any AFL list.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.     The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm.
