Taylor Walker

Forget Walker turn our attention to Dangerfield.

Article in the AFL website is that he mentioned he wont resign with the crows unless he sees a direction of the club and success in the future,, Got a feeling he was rather annoyed at the some of the decisions the crows have made in regards the Kurt Tippett saga and getting banned from first two rounds of the national draft.

Comes out of contract at the end of 2015 so hopefully by then we are a attractive football club with a clear direction and massive improvement on field. Said Money be the issue but im sure we would look after him well in that department.

Thoughts?

Thoughts...... if people need any convincing just watch some of his highlights from last night.

Please not another key position player with knee history.

I can handle it if they're basically clean before they arrive and something goes wrong, but will we never learn our lesson?

What lesson?

That afl players commonly suffer knee injuries?

That they commonly overcome them?

That no matter what the club does, some supporters will jump at shadows?

All trades will be looked at. Remember ROOS is not impressed by Draft selections. He doesn't want to waste time. He wants ready made players.

Tex would be looked at provided the knee stands up this year.

machsy is right dude, a good portion of footballers do knees, a good number recover fully.

Most decent full fwds have done a knee or had some significant injury issues.

Every player comes with risk.

Im not suggesting that we disregard injury history, but its not like the club will go and target guys like menzel, gumbleton or mccaffer. (apparently we had eyes on SG during trade, i would hope not)

Joel Selwood had significant knee issues prior to being drafted.

Guess he was a dud pick then?

Wouldn't go anywhere near Jon Patton either, obviously.

You can always find examples against. That doesn't necessarily tip the balance.

In my view it is a pretty big risk to load up on a key forward with past knee history, which we'd need to do to get someone like Walker. Yes, some recover, but a lot don't and I'd far rather chase someone without that added risk factor, who would cost basically the same wage.

I accept that it isn't as if we're advocating chasing Menzel, who has now had three, but still.

Menzels on his 4th i believe.

I was just pointing out theres probably no quality key forward that hasn't had issues

Tex is appearing to have a longer than expected recovery from his knee injury. Lets see him him back on the park first. I haven't forgotten what happened to The Ox after his knee went several times.

Like NMFC were with Dal Santo and Adelaide were with Betts, I really hope Melbourne are already in talks with the management of atleast one coming-out-of-contract gun.

Tex would be a huge acquisition.

He'd also be a huge risk, with his knee still having a big '?' over it

Taylor Walker is great but he gets more injuries than Quentin.

I'm assuming your speaking of Mike Willesee's very own Quentin?

No , the injuries in Tarantinos films of course-would I be so childish as to mock Mike Wilesees mate?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
