Now that we have seen both Georgiou and King in action last Friday evening, does anybody who voted for Jetta want to reconsider their vote [or does anybody else want to add a vote]?

Jetta wiil be promoted 100% I reckon Roos will love him as a player and I still think he will make it I would taker him any day over Tapscott, Nicholson, Strauss and Blease (and others)

Jetta is 90 % irrelevant to us going forward. hes just a better pick at the level he was than many around him. Hes a looooong long way to go to break into this side....now

As far as I am aware there is no rush at all.

So surely we should just wait and see if / when / who is injured and tailor the promotion accordingly.

Georgiou was great against Richmond and if he plays another good game against Geelong then I think there's a strong chance he'll be upgraded and line up in our round 1 side.

Garland may not be right for round 1 either which only increases Georgiou's chances of playing round 1.

Georgiou was good last Friday and he'll probably get the nod, but it would have been an eye opener for young King and he didn't disgrace himself. In fact I thought he looked quite composed when he got his hands on the footy.

It will be interesting to see if our other rookies get a run over the rest of the preseason and how they go before making any judgements even if AG did look ok first up.

King = nowhere near ready physically

Harmes = promising, but absolutely inexperienced. Casey is his go.

Jetta = a possibility, but has had plenty of opportunity without sealing a spot. Casey again.

Georgiou = what he showed Friday he's been showing for two years in SANFL. Experience, maturity, decision making.

This is a no-brainer.

I thought Georgio was better than Strauss off half back.

Really shut down his man. Strauss may be able to kick the ball but he is pretty ordinary one on one.

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill.     Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
