Just read Enyaw’s post that has been the subject of considerable comment.

There has been a classical misreading here and En.. , I’m certain, is the victim of churlish misunderstanding – after all ,a prophet is never recognised in his own land.

The following quote from “American Deconstruction” amply supports Enyaw’s position , “...critics flirted with a number of alien presences in their attempts to throw off the long cherished formalism of the New Critics.” Clearly Enyaw has has looked ahead and realised that the “the scientific ‘myth criticism’ of Northrop Frye, the Hegelian Marxism of Lukacs, the phenomenology of Poulet and the rigours of French structuralism [has] each had its day.”

And if that is not enough, “De Man believes that this insight -in-blindness is facilitated by an unconscious slide from one kind of unity to another”.

Good show Enyaw.

Pearls on swine old china.

I'm sure Enyaw ,a man of such efficacy, will now adjust his theory accordingly.

Well picked up Biffen. Obviously you have a propensity for the more formal of the reader oriented approaches but clearly you are also strongly influenced by the poetic and metalinguistic. ( although no doubt there are other factors at play)

Thanks for clearing all that up BBO.... I think I need another drink!

I love how it goes on and on then.

"consider this Fitzy on a wing"

Like it's some miraculous move that will save us.

Proud to be Gu.less

I don't really understand the angst about the suggestion of placing Fitzy on a wing. I was once at a pre game MFC briefing held by Chris Connolly and he asked where people thought Fitzy might play. I offered "rover". He looked incredulous but why limit your imagination just because a player's over 200cm?

The above conversation did not take place in premises called "the vault" although if I recall correctly, some other members of the audience distinctly looked like Zulus.

The other connection with ENYAW's OP is that Connolly's response was also incoherent.

You should be banned from opening a thread on this site.

If Patrick Smith read this Thread you would win Gibberish of the week.

Ok WJ, its getting late on a Saturday and it looks like everyone is having a few!

... except where I am in Liverpool, England it's late morning and everybody here's pretty much stone cold sober.

You are on Holidays so my question is, why?

Wayne's Crack pipe rambling, has elevated him to hero status.... Got to love this site... Quick give the man a cape...lol...

We need a big light with Enyaw on it, so we can call on him when he's needed!!!

The 5 things I learnt from the OP, NOTHING,NOUGHT,ZERO,ZILTCH and sweet F..K all. sorry not to sugar coat it.

With so many knockers out there I am beginning to understand why the Dees suffer from a losing mentality, perhaps the brain of some authors havn't developed, logic might be a gift to some.

Fancy selecting a round one team with players that have left the club or are contracted at other clubs.

This sounds too much like Matt Burgan's b.llshit interviews and reports. You only have to look at HOGAN's face in a recent interview.

I am sure other clubs don't go down the bullish.t track.

My is Enyaw,I am proud to be of aboriginal origin and some of you already know this. You racists out have the cheek to call me Wayne who do you think you are?

The Bulldogs aren't concerned with picking up an experience midfield player, plenty of good youngsters. Why does it seem to be a big deal? Not many teams are interested in acquiring our non achievers.

I did say in the past we had a problem with the MCC and administrator......footy dept. ( GOING GOING GONE), WATTS to play RUCK/ROVER...midfield ......becomes a reality.Colin Sylvia an under achiever/ trouble maker......GONE there is a god.

We should play like the SWANS......Paul Roos isa the the coach....GUESS WHAT?........Few authors have called me silly...Others say spot on.

How come the guys who played in the reserves all did a fantastic job regardless of a smashing got de-listed,who ever writes the crap should be.......... Tell it as it is .......If we are shi.t then say so.

The 5 things I learnt this year NOTHING,NOUGHT,ZERO,ZILTCH and sweet F..K all. sorry not to sugar coat it.

Why do few authors state a topic is silly yet are not willing to make a descent contribution to the topic.........something to do with being Gu.less

Consider this Fitzy on the wing.Dees pick up Sheeds.Dees to win 8-10 games in 2014.

Everyone out there has a good day.

After reading this post i kept thinking back to the movie "Billy Madison"

Principal: Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Billy Madison: Okay, a simple "wrong" would've done just fine.

That last paragraph is quite difficult to read. Racism.. I don't think so. You come on here posting absolute crap, criticise other posters in it, and than get upset when your post is laughed out. Don't rush back Enyaw, or Wayne.. Noone will miss you.

Love it!!! outstanding!!!

Its amazing the insight 20 pots a puff or two of whacky bacci and half a bottle of Brandivino gives a person.

I think we did well with pick 2

This thread has made my day. I literally had to pick myself up off the ground, I found it so funny.

Best thread since the Welcome Paul Roos one. Great work all!

5-Fifty - time for a drink somewhere.

What asylum have I just ventured into ??:wacko:

It took awhile but I sussed it out.

Hold a mirror to your computer screen, behold the christian name WAYNE displays, as for the rest of the post, revert to the Beatles revolution No9, when played backwards all sorts of meanings are brought to light. In this case it wasnt at all helpful. The Enigma machine may be next in line for a workout.

I should have it all worked out by the end before the season begins. kcaJ kcirtapztiF's position should be clear to all by then.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
