To play 15 games and kick 10 goals is a great achievement for a first year player. I would even go as far as say that I have him picked before Tapscott

Very tough, solid body, break away pace, a booming kick on him and a good mark for his size.

I hope he builds a strong endurance base this summer as I see him pushing up to the midfield and making a impact. With his hardness and speed around the ball he reminds me a bit of Luke Shuey.

He's a midfielder. No doubts.

Love watching him play and hope Roosy can teach him how to become a top mid. Very very happy with his selection and could be a bargain for us!

Good call dazzler. He was coming from a long way back in terms of fitness. With a full pre season under his belt i could definitely see him moving to the mid field.

Also love the fact he is a left footer. It really helps create some space and assists him to bring it in board. He's also a booming kick and his kicks seem to travel low and fast which Hogan, Dawes and Clark will love. I hope Tappy goes to another levl, but if he can't Kent will go straight past him.

Love his aggression and hardness at the ball too. He'll be a good player for us, midfield or forward.

With Kent and Clark we could have a Superman forward line !

As Dermie said to Roos on SEN Friday night, and Roos seemed to agree, it looks like MFC have too many flankers trying to move into the midfield, as opposed to "mids who can go back" to the flank.

As said above, Kent is a midfielder.

And if guys like Tapscott, Blease, Strauss, etc can't build a decent tank and learn to find the ball often, they might be in a lot of trouble.

Well, to be honest, they are already.

I really rate kent, I believe he is going to be an awesome long term player for us.

Good thread Dazzle. Really excited to see where Kent's potential and hard work takes him. With a bigger fitness base and another 40 games under his belt, he could be a beauty

The thing that got me excited about Kent even more than his speed and kicking is the number of times I've seen him go backwards into traffic to intercept/spoil a mark. He has some serious courage. We have a heap of more senior players who aren't willing to put their body on the line like that, and I hope they feel 2 inches tall every time they see him put in like that.

Reminds me of Leigh Adams. Shorter, stocky midfielder. Hopefully can get more of the pill. Knows where the goals are too, kicked a very nice one in our last game.

Was really happy with the fact that with each game, he seemed to get just a little bit better. No massive leaps, but you could see just by watching that he was figuring out what AFL football is all about.

Will be happy to see him and a fit Evans running through our midfield next year.

Yep - thats why I think Taggert could slip into the team come round 1.

Is 188cm tall and about 90kg. Good player but just lacks the tank for the midfield. (hasn't had a full preseason yet)

Wonder what the recruiting team thinks of Scharenberg. 190cm, rated right up there, playing down back at the moment but by all reports he is a Goddard-style utility who could (and some say should) make a full time move into the midfield.

Surely there's no doubt over whether he's ahead of Tapscott. Clearly right now, he is. Hopefully he develops into that bullocking midfield-forward of the Chapman mould. Pretty much what we hoped Tapscott would become.

I really like the look of Kent. I love his pace and willingness to take the game on. He's perfect for the slingshot style of play. Hopefully he can get his aerobic ability up so that he can be a more consistently damaging player and play small bursts in the midfield (where I'd like to see his ability in tight). I'm sure he'll benefit from another preseason.
