A few interesting decisions in there, Cotchin was probably a bit stiff to miss out. Fremantle have done particularly well this year and good on Jeremey Cameron - already an absolute gun.

Terrible imo, no richmond players at all is just crazy.

Dam and the MFC had such a good year.

Surely our backs with all the stats they would have gotten during the season should have made the list!

Why isn't Natainui in there?

What a farce.

WHERE'S CYRIL RIOLI??!?

Luke Hodge is very lucky to make the squad. Great footballer, but when looking at his stats for this season he is lucky to make it. Less disposals, less clearances, less tackles than Nathan Jones, who receives much more tagging attention being the only decent midfielder in our team.

The rest of the selections barring a few smaller forward types seem pretty straight forward. A fair few midfielders that missed out could put forward a case, but at the end of the day they can only squeeze so many into the squad.

I think Garland is a little stiff here. Proably not a good enough season for the final 22, but he should have been in the extended squad.

I really like Garland but you have to be joking. No MFC player would be in cooee of AA this year.

Kade Simpson very unlucky not to get in the 22 let alone the 40.

Liberatore not getting in the 40 shows the selection panel focus on media attention and TV show favourites, rather than actual output.

Hodge should not have got anywhere near the list.

Garland was great this year but a lot of other backmen were better than him.

I think Crowley was unlucky, he is a tagger who can hurt going the other way and is rarely beaten. He is a very underrated player and must be in line for back to back B&F's at Freo.

I thought I was getting Hodgey for a bargain early in the supercoach, sadly, he never came good and spudded up my side all year.

Hodge looked past his best and shot this year, Buddy was also no where near AA standard., not even close.

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
