Yoicks!

Whispering, what's the significance? Evidence permissible?

my hird worshipping mate posted this article on facebook and said "suck it asada".

now, id have thought the guy accused of bringing in the drugs from china for essendon to use facing drug related charges only serves to help asada....

and this from a guy who is normally highly intelligent and logical!

The Ess injection pattern matching TB4, players knowing TB4 on the premises etc no wonder Hird wants the ASADA/AFL investigation be declared unlawful!

The players may get off lightly but if they are suspended at all and unless Hird wins the Fed court case he is gone and he knows it!!

Isn't that what we all really want (even Ash 35 perhaps) to see Hird get his due and hopefully wipe that horrible smirk off his face...

Whispering, I have heard of having your nose to the grindstone and I respect that, but really posting at 4.44am!

Mocking Essendon is a 24 hour 7 days a week public service.

Keep up the good work WJ.

and most Bomber fans still worship this clueless dip-[censored]

Not quite so sure about that. A mate of mine had an almost pathological man crush on Hird the player: now he can hardly speak of the club, let alone the manipulating cheat.

And one question - IF perchance up to 20 current players were to be suspended even for a paltry month or so of the season, how could they field a team? And if they could with some sort of fill-ins, just how distorted would the results over that period be for the competition as a whole.

Imagine if some serious finals contenders were given in effect "byes" over that period, while others had to play genuine teams - the whole season would be corrupted (ah, well, after all it is the AFL "draw" so what has changed?)

Much as I (and most) detest byes, the only nearly fair way to deal with this would be to suspend EnnUndone for the entire season (or more) or at very least make them play for no points, even though that in itself given the unbalanced "draw" would be very unfair on those who only play them once.

Monoccular.. I believe the contingency plan via the AFL is to allow the Bombers to lift all Rookies and grab from their VFL team to fill the gaps. I'm seriously expecting the ban to force this for more than a month or two. Bombers will be fodder in 2015....Can't wait ^_^^_^^_^

Will be VERY hard for the decent Bomber fan to stomach let alone watch.

People are forgetting that Dank admitted giving thymosin beta 4 in the age interview the science of steven dank . Dank also gave the details of the injection schedule and requsted it not be published . Dank was also told by the journalist beta. 4 is banned catching Danks reaction . That interview is part of asada evidence . Gone .

Close, but no cigar.

First word sounds like dombers second sounds like pucked.

But anything other than a season-long ban for the whole club would very seriously compromise the entire competition.

The AFL in considering any player bans, and any more penalties against the cheating club, must look a long way further forward than the first few rounds.

maybe they could allow the bans to be spread evenly over the season?

just a thought

I hope the fixture has them paying is on the first month or so.

In fact it would be great if the AFL fixtures then against all the 2014 bottom sides for the first 6 weeks.

Also, if multiple players are banned, and the AFL is therefore required to sanction the club, I hope that sanction is draft penalties. It will be ridiculous if they get pick 1 because they get smashed all year after 20 players get banned.

Really it should probably be playing for no points and ineligible for the draft (or at the very least, last pick in each round).

ahhh here lays the interest for moi.

The AFL are really Amateurs here. They have been trying to play both ends against the middle in the hope that the impact to the league/fixture/bottom line is mitigated. They think they are the big boys in town but are about to be shown a lesson.

AFL have been focusing on the players...WADA still has ability to king hit a TEAM. Albeit it is a bit of brave new world here as to how you punish a team in this context but its something no one seems to be talking about and I find that odd.

11.2 Consequences for Team Sports
If more than two members of a team in a Team Sport
are found to have committed an anti-doping rule
violation during an Event Period, the ruling body of the
Event shall impose an appropriate sanction on the
team (e.g., loss of points, Disqualification from a
Competition or Event, or other sanction) in addition to
any Consequences imposed upon the individual
Athletes committing the anti-doping rule violation.
11.3 Event Ruling Body May Establish
Stricter Consequences for Team Sports
The ruling body for an Event may elect to establish
rules for the Event which impose Consequences for
Team Sports stricter than those in Article 11.2 for
purposes of the Event.

If the CLUB is allowed to field a team in some shape and form I have an inkling those banned will be out for the year...or better part of.

Another year of draft sanctions would be crippling for the club in the medium to long term.

If players are banned and the club stays financially afloat after all the legal stuff is done and dusted, a decade of mediocrity will make things difficult indeed.

You would want to be playing the Bombers very early in the season.

You would want to be playing the Bombers very early in the season.

why.. I think 1 year suspensions are coming... and maybe backdated to the original issue of SCN's.

I dont think WADA will accept anything but......if it sneaks over into 2015 ..lookout....double bango !!

An element about all of this is the continued and systemic use ( abuse ) . its not a "once" off event as WADA call it..

WADAs case sits upon the alignment of Essendons use of 'something' with the known pattern of implementation of TB4 (protocol) By default it jumps beyond a single event.

If somehow a few players can persist with the "I'm a a fwit , didn't know what i was being jabbed with" line they may actually get off lighter ( nominally ) than anyone who lets slip they had an inkling as that's akin to being a little bit dead /pregnant etc. You knew a little...you knew !!.

As I understand it the Sharks indiscretions were more one off in nature and this is why their penalties didn't start off so large. They got off lightly..Wont happen this time.

Keep poking the bear lads.....

Well we play them in our last NAB challenge match on March 20.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
