Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Maybe Ess had concerns and had some of the stuff tested themselves. After an adverse finding they fessed up??

Remember something happened in the 48 hours pre the presser to kick start this. It could have been the Govt Report but maybe not.

Remember something happened in the 48 hours pre the presser to kick start this. It could have been the Govt Report but maybe not.

Remember also that even Government Departments leak, and that there are supposedly phone intercepts that maybe lead to the Bombers camp. Get in on the front foot make it seem as if you've fessed up 'shock horror how could this happen to us?"

I think I've missed something, but the old ASADA chief said that its all up to the laboratory now -if the supplements are found to be fine it'll be ok, but if they're banned then Pandora's box will have been opened.

What substance is he talking about? Have things been confiscated? From where?

Laboratory to test what? Do they think they still have samples of the same stuff that was injected 12 months ago?

I can imagine it now, Bomba going "Uh... there! That's it. This is the stuff they were taking. Yep definitely, that's exactly it. No question. Oh look, it just says it's plain old vitamin B on the label. Sorry to waste your time boys. You can go test it if you want though..."

As HT sorta said.

Yes it's pretty hard to test a drug that was taken 12 months ago!

It will be conducted the same way Lance was done.

He never tested. But people will talk now the whole mess is an open wound.

Just gotta ask the right way.

Herald sun page 7 article 'outlaw drugs up for grabs' (sorry guys can't find it online)

Near the end of the article

He added mr charter would often mention he would have coffee with gangland figure most days.

And a former Melbourne player claim mr carter used to advise several demons players on what to take to aid performance and recover "like European cyclists"

He put me on a range of injections and supplements. I didn't know what the f... I was taking but my recovery was outstanding' I felt unstoppable somedays

'It cost me $10,000 so it wasn't cheap'

I'm on the iPhone so no long analysis from me but looks like it's more widespread than we think and some players (I'm thinking early 2000 after wooey brownlow) from our club have done it in the past especially has we know how clean cycling in Europe has been for the last decade

28 pages and counting, I thought we would have learnt on this board, that nothing is a fact until it is proven

Why was nobody arrested yesterday, why was noboby named simple answer, there is no concrete proof, there are suspicions and probably uncorroborated statements, but not enough to pursue

The Police are now going to use all their resources to try and prove

ASADA are hoping that if they shake the tree hard enough something will fall out, similar to the Lance Armstrong situation

I will wring my hands and be disgusted if and when a present day Melbourne player or official is suspended, banned, arrested for using/administering performance enhancing drugs

The rest is what we have all become used to, the media creating the story

I can't wait for the footy to start and then we can talk about the footy

God I hate this stuff...........How far do we have to look back and ask weather the winners of the grand final were on drugs?????

Any winning teams are now under suspicion and it will just spoil the footy for me.....

After so many years of being crap,if we improve to much this year the suspicion will be on us...

What a world we live in.....What a world...

Just saw a tweet made by former Demonologist (and perhaps very occasional Demonlander) Graham Gaunt:

"Paul Gardner just got on @2GB873 and mentioned that@melbournefc and another club north of Sydney are rumoured on the issue. #sourgrapes ?"

Anyone else hear this?

Carlton barred John Elliott from turning up at the club for quite some time. Can we do the same for this [censored]?

Did anyone see Tom Harley/Jason Stevens/Mike Whitney on Sunrise this morning? I found it to be quite interesting, especially between the two ex-footballers.

Jason Stevens was absolutely stunned that this was happening in sport. It was clear that he was surprised, and that it was happening in the sport he played was really upsetting for him.

Harley on the other hand, I have serious issues with (apart from the fact I think he is a first class [censored], up there in the Barrett league). Firstly, he gave the interview absolutely no emotiion, no personal opinion, and anything that he spat out was pretty much a cut and paste from what he had read in the paper or heard on the news. This doesn't surpirse me, but that's my personal view on him. The thing that stood out the most for me was the fact that he didn't show anywhere near the shock that Jason Stevens showed, he didn't mention anything about his time at the Geelong Football Club, and the only thing in terms of his own opinion that he said was that it would be tragic if players were taking stuff that they didn't know the full extent of.

Now, I may have already slipped in to that rut of questioning-every-single-person-until-we-know-facts, but I found it quite amazing at just how uncomfortable he looked in front of a camera talking about it. Especially given that you can't shut him up when talking about himself or how good Geelong is.

Just curious to find out if anyone else saw it.

Saw it, thought he was a cardboard cut out of a person. He said nothing of note, but neither did Whitney for that matter. Just a fluff piece to look like "experts/any actual journalism" had occurred.

You shouldn't have gone in with expectations of Whitney saying anything relevant anyway!

Harley on the other hand, it was quite noticable given what he is normally like.

I am only browing part of the 20 odd pages, or looking for reply to my post, what I am saying is that at the moment it is all hearsay, will fill the papers and tv for a few days and then be replaced with something else that will appeal to the masses and drag out all the so called experts and pundits....noticed even Akermanis is getting a guernsey

I am not naive enough to think there are no drugs in sport, but until somebody is outed, what is the point stressing over it, it may have no impact whatsoever on MFC and basically don't give a toss about any other sport or team, end of my contribution to this 'topic'

BD They should go back to WCE of 92 and 94 - bulked up bigtime and had a few colourful racing identities around the place.

Obviously not a true catholic,

Up the Gers!

I meant to PM you a couple of weeks ago after the FA Cup tie. Followed the Toffees since I was given a jersey when I was four. Always worry about playing your lot in the Cup since you rolled us in around 92/93

Satyricon, you sound like one of the posters on bomberblitz.

This is not hearsay. A 12 month investiagtion has established that PED's are a major issue in australian sport. yeas we might be speculating about who is involved but the issue must be real for the government to make a stand like they did yesterday

hows this one from bomberblitz, trolling at it's best!

Mate of a mate knows Joe Daniher and he told him he will be having a 2 year holiday without even playing a game from injections he was given last year censored.gif
