Voss Sacked

A bit of competition in the Great Coach Hunt. Brisbane more Roos' style perhaps?

Brisbane coach Michael Voss will depart the Lions after being told on Tuesday that his contract would not be renewed at the end of 2013.

Strong speculation now surrounds former Sydney premiership coach Paul Roos. Roos is believed to have been unofficially approached by Brisbane about one month ago when he is said to have rejected an offer to return to AFL coaching.

aaarghh damn..... more competition for Roosy?

Wow, this is big news!.

A message to the MFC. Do not rush, do not make the same mistake as we did with Neeld. Get it right!

Wait what? i thought he was going to be offered a new deal?

Has matty primus ruled himself out yet? haha

now theres 2 clubs in the dance ooops

Jesus. Did not see that coming. Looked like he was finally turning it around. Don't think they would be doing this unless they had someone like Roos lined up.

they said he failed to build a team that could beat Melbourne by more than 100points

Yep their goes our chances of an experienced coach....

Unless anyone thinks Ross is the go?

Roos probably signed with Brissy last year

I know we have to get our house in order but why does it always feel like the mfc are sitting around twiddling their thumbs?

Poor Mark Harvey probably looking for a new job again, after another cloak & dagger move!

Reckon they must have Roos in the bag.

Shame.

could this be the story that covers up the lettuce leaf production at napier street

Stuff Roos, at a guess he is not interested. Choco just moved back to Melbourne as has done just as much as Roos. I want a coach not just a motivator.

I thought for a long time Roos was holding out for a club in a better state like Brisbane but thought Voss had saved his bacon with that game against Geelong.

On another note another same club player/coach gone. Primus last year, Voss this year and possibly Hird?

Oh oh!

I think every coaching job will probably have Paul Roos linked too it.

I wonder if we could lure voss as a midfield coach?

If Roos goes to Lions

Is it to do with Mrs Roos wanting a northerly shift rather than a southerly one

Have they the dough

I not sure why people are thinking that this announcement represents a loss of Roos.

We certainly never had him.

And if Brisbane were not going to resign Voss, don't you think they might have had exploratory discussions with prospective candidates?

And as Freo showed 2 years ago, there may well be other Clubs flying below the radar exploring opportunities that we don't know.l

It's naive to think we are the only ones looking.

And heaven knows Essendon should be in need of a new coach too. Essendon's future will be clearer once the penalties are agreed and announced.

So, do we add Voss to our list of candidates?

He hasn't had much success though

Wow Moloney saw a coached sacked in his first season. Hope brisbane dont get a coach that will be to hard on him he may want to leave.

I thought Brisbane would do the decent thing and wait until the 3 games are over. But maybe they are into roos and need to get an offer going.

The thing is though brisbane dont need to go down our path and get an experienced coach. They could get an experienced untried coach if that makes sense.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
