He is soft, take the rose coloured glasses off

Really depends on your definition of soft I guess. I've seen him hit contests hard and at the bottom of packs. I've also seen the toughest players the AFL has to offer squib a contest at some point or another.

This includes Hodge, Mitchell, Hayes, Bartel, Selwood, Franklin, D Martin, Ablett, Swan, Watts (hehe), Boyd, Goodes, H Taylor, N Reiwoldt, Chapman, and on and on and on and on....

The only ones I haven't seen anything but 100% commitment to each contest time and time again is J Brown and our own Jack Viney.

I think you need to re-evaluate your definition of the word soft, and I would suggest that 90%+ of AFL players wouldn't fit it.

Chad Wingard says hi

Hasn't he improved out of site this year. I followed him closely last year and wasn't all that impressed with his ouput... although he was nursed through his first year and got the green vest many times. If Toumpas can have a follow up year similar to Wingard's then Demonland will be a much happier place next year.

surely you jest..........lol

That's very polite of him. Especially with him being out of state and playing for a different team.

What are you talking about ?

Wingard regularly flies for marks that take extreme courage.

Where did I say he wasnt a good footballer or didnt have the capabilities to be a good footballer? I'm just stating that he is soft

Do you play football?

I'm not getting this idea that Toumpas is soft. What absolute rot, particularly if the evidence is dropping his head when going for a mark in the second quarter in their forward 50 (the mark was intercepted and they goaled).

I was at the game and right behind the goals. It was poor play by Toupas but he absolutely did not drop his head or squib the contest. His mistake was the ball was crossed to him and floated a bit and he didn't move towards the ball which allowed the cats player (who he should have sensed was there) to come in and mark. Not great play but not soft.

U can't play AFL. And be soft his not soft, so what if u don't find him at the bottom of the pack, ever watch swan play, he is good one on one but u won't find him at the bottom of packs he will always hang on the outside of packs, but he is not soft jimmy is not soft, and if I said it before, I do not have that opinion. As with morton I think he can turn it around.

Should be good viewing tonight.

This is a different example, when he went back with the flight and his head went into his shoulders like a turtle with no one around him threatening to hit him is my example

Posters like yourself are boring, often your post are your own opinion, and not based on fact. Jimmy could fly back ten times with the fight of the ball, and posters like you will stick to the same line.

Too many people on here are blinded by their own faith. He is soft

half time stats

0 kicks, 0 handballs, 0 marks, 0 tackles

Not good at all

How can he be as good as he was against Geelong and do nothing this week? lets hope for a decent second half

Because he's probably never played in tropical conditions before.

He did an entire pre season up there, he should have some idea, maybe heavy legs from last week?

DL excuses kicking into action

This kid should not be playing afl footy.

He should be at Casey working on his game. Same with Kent.

Its a shame our list is so bad that we have no one to play ahead of these kids.

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.
