Melbourne sponsors backlash over Demons

And to this day that are ppl on here that still defend that absolute [censored] of a Muppet Cam Schwab. Best decision the club made in about 10 years was sacking him this year. Should have bloody happened after 186 but no weak leadership and the ''boys'' club saved his ass.

Fancy asking the club for a loan too. Would Peter Jackson or Frank Costa do that to there clubs?

Does anyone know if we have signage around Goschs paddock yet, the pies had there sponsors signs around the oval there, it's very good exposure and I'm sure it would please Webjet and Opel.

The whole ground had signage, all along the fence line, similar to Casey Fields, when the pies used to train there you could see Westpac and Adiddas signs in the back ground, you could also see it driving along punt road.

yep...I know exactly what it had as I would sometimes watch the pies instead of us.. ( it was , dare I say it, more like watching footy )

MJT ..I am at a loss as to understand why these things arent done.. It mightnt be high on Jackos list (or it could be and just hasnt been actioned yet ) but its the sort of thing that needs attention.

Your dead right, there training on prime real estate on punt road, it's a perfect opportunity to display the company's that support the club, there must be 100,000 cars a day use that road, it's the little things like this that make us bottom feeders.

The MFC should sell its story to Hollywood, nothing I seen on TV can match how badly this Club has been managed over the years.

May be the money generated from the sale could be used to pay off more of the deadwood.

Clearly the Club is infected with some much deadwood its nearly terminal.

Don't you mean Bollywood - LOL

I heard Mission chose the Dogs because they got naming rights to Whitten Oval.

True that. Part of the deal was that they were granted naming rights to the WO's 'community training facility' one of those government financed things that the club uses but the community also has access to at times.

very much so !! with limited exceptions..

40 YEARS OF RUBBISH FROM PEOPLE IN CHARGE . UPSETS ME..!!

maybe not u.??

LOL

Only been a MFC supporter since 1999, before that I followed the Eagles who won 2 flags when I was a supporter, so I may not have that deep hunger for success as a long term MFC supporter would.

But I had enough of poor leadership at the MFC as well.

I see PJ as the God of Vengance!

Does this mean you were supporting Meth Coke in the 1994 Preliminary Final??

I remember that day well.

I did support the Eagles in the 1991,1992 and 1994 grand finals.

But my true love at the time was the mighty Blue and Red (West Perth).

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
