Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Roos and PJ met with the other directors of the MFC at the G tonight apparently.

Meeting with Directors would normally mean a contract signing type situation correct?

With what has come to light in the last couple of days..... most of Neil Craigs last match day presser changed tact from the norm.

It seemed to me he was talking up the need for a priority pick and said the list wasnt up to it. Whereas in the past he stuck to where we had improved blah blah.It was like a hard sell on his part. The last presser I just thought when I heard him speak, he was taking another avenue to convince the AFL we need picks. Now I am convinced he knew what the likely outcome who was to be the coach , therefore didnt talk up the team improvements in the game as in previous pressers. Perhaps his coaching position meeting was more an update on Roos almost over the line or is to be coach, and they wanted his views and opinion on matters regarding his position and any input he had to offer. My take was he reverted back to selling the club and its requirements, rather than a coach talking up the team as a whole. My gut feeling as is most on here, is that we have our man, just a few loose ends that needed to be tied up.

For those that wanted to know what Phil Cleary said on Ch2 today. He said Roos has signed with Melbourne, then a pause, then finished with, almost a done deal. I went from elation to tell me something i dont know whithin a matter of seconds.

I am not sure if it helped but I apoligised to Roos for belting the Swans in Rnd 17,2010 (he worst defeat as a coach) I hoped he didnt hold that against us. ;)

Mate anything is possible.

I will wash his bloody car if it helps.

I don't wanna get my hopes up too much, i thought we had Ross Lyon, but meeting the directors on a saturday night at the MCG can only be a big positive, what other reason could they possibly have?

As MFC supporters we have been through it all - if you want to pick a mini tragedy or a mishap its really hard to pick where to start - 70s? 80s? 90s? or now?

In recent times losing Scott Thompson was a blow, but since then we have tried to attract multiple players to the club - Judd, Acker, Ball etc - and they all viewed us as a complete joke of a club. Dwayne Russell even suggested that future players and draftees would go and get supreme court injunctions so that they aren't drafted by the dees.

Really since the hope at the end of 2000 I cant think of a time when I have (potentially) been more upbeat about out future which seems odd in a year when our list was probably the worst I can remember since certain years in the 80s. And that is only because FINALLY we might actually be getting our man!

I'll go back to the mid 60's This wouldnt make up for the hurt since those days, but its the best news since RDB came back to the club

I'll throw in Templeton, Tilbrook for starters as getting my hopes up, they bombed.

Just to clarify, I dont mean it to sound like If we get Roos he will bomb, more the point, i have got my hopes up many times only to be let down time and time again.

If you don't support either dockers or West Coke it is miserable because anything else outside those 2 clubs does not exist. Perth is still a very insular place to live, place is full of cashed up middle class bogans...nah unless you like surfing, that's about it.

How about you take your opinion, put a little lube on it and insert it sideways deep into your a**e.

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
