Casey Scorpions v Collingwood and Debt Demolition Day

KC from Casey

Have you seen it?

Clearly needs work.

Just because it's unconventional doesn't mean it needs work. His stutter approach hasn't deterred him from nearly leading the VFL in goals kicked this year.. just like it hasn't stopped Josh Kennedy in the AFL.

The harm is delaying post-season surgery, which puts their pre-season training back. I'm not advocating one approach or the other, but let's not pretend that there is no cost involved. It's a decision about what's more important; players playing in finals in a secondary competition, or starting pre-season ASAP?

Another good reason why we need to set up our own VFL team. We can also have the players practice what they train in a real match setting. Only watched Casey once this year, a few times last year, but from what I've witnessed their set up and style is quite different to the Neeld way.

Hope not, list clogger.....

After the bye it's open to clubs to elevate another rookie. If we do that, then we might give Couch a go - he's been playing well. However, it should be noted that Jimmy Toumpas was taken out of the original named Casey squad and is in the starting 22 for Monday at the G. Hopefully, Jack Viney will return soon after the bye and it won't be necessary to upgrade any more rookies at that stage.

Magner and Couch had plenty of the ball today with the former getting 40 touches according to one of the blokes around here. The latter's been named best for Casey today.

Just got home from game , Hogan has an unbelievable engine, that kid has got the goods, he chases , tackles and smothers, he's a great pack mark, he's kickings not the best but nor is Franklins, he's the best player on our list by a mile, that kids work rate is first class, he puts non tries like J Watts to shame, we finally going to have absolute A grade champion to go and watch, he's going to bring droves of supporters back to the G.

Thanks for keeping the lid on Hogan mjt. FWIW, I think he's not a bad kick at all and is certainly better than Buddy in terms of accuracy but not distance (yet).

Stats soon KC??

Updated in my final score post above.

I thought Couch was a rookie. In my opinion just another of Neelds list cloggers.

Agreed.

But given the current state of our midfield and the fact that Couch has been so dominant at VFL level for so long, surely he deserves a look-in at some stage?? If Neeld had decided that Couch was not up to it prior to the commencement of the season then why did he re-rookie him?

... so the good people of the Casey area, it doesn't matter what they think of us, re unplugging from the partnership when the Finals approach?

no wonder our grass roots support base is almost Non Existant..

how about we show some respect to the players & to the supporters, & the voluntary staff, who commit their footy seasons to supporting & barracking for the Scorps?

if we are to become a strong Club once again, we have to learn to treat people with more Respect.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie
