It would be interesting if he fits in. Some of the elite around the club might look down on him for being the CEO of a club in plebian football code.

We get him, we get serious.

there are elite around the club?

they must be masters of disguise

Although he has had success at the Storm, I know him from an earlier incarnation, and the guy is a slippery character. I would be very careful of him.

Wow. After Waldren i would have thought Storm would have been squeaky clean.

Not doubting your word, can you elaborate at all?

I think the elite of the club haven't helped us much of late. Gauci may well fit the bill particularly in terms of his pulling power.

ill go one step further and say its the "elite" of the club that have put us where we are today. a club can only be as strong as its membership and the mfc membership with the power have failed dismally. the outdated attitudes and philosophies toward a professional sporting club have really produced todays results. as many posters keep repeating, results and success/failure are driven from the top down. MFCs "top" are a pretty ordinary group of thinkers. Amateur hour and it always will be. coaches , players come and go - the one constant is the supporter base and as a whole the MFC supporter base doesnt know its arse from its elbow.

The elbow is where the leather patch on the tweed jacket goes. Right? Somewhere south of the cravat?

If Gauci ends up at Essenscum I'll be a tad disappointed. Anyone think it was a coincidink Robson resigned not long after the Gauci was noted as a free agent?

I agree.... Just like other clubs..... Our culture is driven but our supporters..... Our culture sucks...... We are a joke!

Some here think how many rebuilds/five year plans can one club have...... Hows about we actually see out a five year plan, for the full five years....

On the ABC, they interviewed Gauci who stated he had been an essendon supporter for a long time. Was keen to apply for the job...

With the storm being sold today and the management restructure that has followed, Ron Gauci has been flicked as CEO in favour of one of the new owners merry men.

I reckon he would be a really good appointment if Peter Jackson does not continue after his 6 month contract. He went to the storm post the kaka hitting the fan and from what I see the club is running like a well oiled machine.

No!

the club has been driven mainly by conservatives from the MCC Northern Stand... all too conservative for AFL, mostly,,,,,, better Suit-ed to cricket.

...... introverted thinking & attitudes, have created a Pacifistic Environment, which the young players come into contact with on a regular basis, & soon

they are unwittingly under its spell.

We end up with choir boys & businessmen, but No Warriors.

..... we need administrators with Aggression & Vision,,,,, Entrepreneurs, who'll take chance to make the opportunities such as the likes of the Olympic Swimming Centre happen..... and to drive a culture of Passion & of Inclusiveness that Jimma would have been Proud of.

.... the sooner we build a Training/Office-Social Hub, the quicker we can escape the Conservativeness thats strangled this AFL footy club.

I wouldn't be surprised if PJ stayed on as our CEO. He states that at the moment the greatest challenge in the AFL is the MFC. Then he said I love a challenge. Lets just hope he falls in love with the place, has all the power again. There would be a golden handshake from Andy if he did turn us around!!.

Apparently has his hand up for the Essendon job. Hopefully doesn't get it though. Wouldn't mind him. Met all the KPIs at Storm.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
