Out: Nicholson, mckenzie

In: jordie and nicho

Anyone else think that doesn't make us ten goals better?

Also we should bring in the other top 5 runners at the club we've been hiding at Casey

Posted

We can't carry too many unskillful players, Nicholson jordie bail jetta tapscott (goal kicking mainly) all poor users of footy, blease and Kent need to come in and show 80% plus week in week out

Posted

Did anyone see the second quarter of the Casey v Box Hill game?

The Hawks have an entire seconds team of goers with excellent foot skills, super impressive.

Whereas we have Jordie and Nicho plus Bail God love him.

We must address this at the drafting table - players that can hit targets under pressure.

If you had also listened to some of the names, you would have realised that a few of them have been around a few years as well, either at the Hawks or brought in from other clubs, but hey, sure you can hit a target any time you like

Nicho was good today. None of the usual kicking issues.

Still had some decision making probs but his kicking was pretty good.

...and same with our guys. Rodan, MacDonald, Pederson, Blease, Spencer, Couch have all been around a few years as well. Their ball use was much better than ours as it is in their AFL team but that is to be expected, it's what we have to aim for. As for most of them, their time is past but Blease who could have a good future and needs to get more consistent with his ball use, he certainly has the skill it's more a mental issue (concentration) with him. Taggert is a good kick, Barry just finding his way and a bit hit of miss at the moment but he has the fundamentals of a good kick.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
