As they say, The best time of the year for a Melbourne supporter is pre-season. Since 2007 we have waited in anticipation for improvement and a gradual climb back up the ladder. Hmmmm, dream on.

The reality is this is our 6th year heading into a miserable winter with no hope whatsoever of seeing any improvement and going backwards on the ladder. Re-build, re-build and no signs of improvement.

This club and those trusted with running it have failed all those who support it. Damn all of you for causing this mess.

I would be happy to sit in the rain and cold just to see a group play hard competitive football.

Oh well, there is always pre-season to look forward to for a dees supporter.

Obviously never spent a cold winter's day at the old VFL park in Waverley. That said, my fondest memories are the come from behind win against the Weagles in 87 and the wonderful day we beat Carltank in the 88 prelim.

I said it on another thread, but those Demon teams were not star studded, they just had a go for each other and their coach; Swooper Northey. Loved those cold days.

I heard a talkback caller last night describe the MFC Board as "a bunch of maniacs who make losing an art form"

I laughed because i couldn't disagree.

The bloke was a Nought Melbourne supporter.

He sure teed off on us, went for about 10 minutes!!

I have noticed while baking on the beach, men find it difficult to hide their fat in summer...

Can't have been worse than watching that smug [censored] David King on 360 last night revel in his own nostradamous like prediction 12 months ago that MFC were going nowhere fast under Neeld.

He was pretty much bang on the money.

I don't like this fast talking, self absorbed [censored] but he is RIGHT. It's nothing against Mark Neeld personally because he sounds like a decent bloke but as a senior coach he has lost the plot. It's just excruciating to watch his team trying to play football.

He was spot on.

King and McLure are spot on in regards to Neeld.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
