GWS- How Confident

After the last 3 weeks of terrible performances, realistically what chance do you think we are of winning on Sunday? They have a few decent players missing through suspension and this is their first game on the G this year (I believe?) but it's safe to say they have been putting up a bigger fight than we have lately. With that being said I think we are a 70% chance of winning and I really hope the boys can find a little bit of hope, confidence and consistency that we've been lacking.

They have no Ruckman and Full forward.

If we bring Gawn in we will smash them.

Mitch will kick six plus.

geeze misplaced optimism here.. we've just turned in the worst start to a season in nearly 30 years, we have hardly put together 0ne good piece of play in 6 hours of football. We absolutely stink at the moment and I would not be confident against anybody.

I'm confident we'll improve on last week, but improve enough to beat GWS, who will be up and about? I'm not sure.

GWS and Kevin know a scalp is on the line. Whilst neither will admit it, they'd love to claim it.

Sheedy acknowledged it on the Backpage panel, last night.

The Bookies reckon more like 62%; I'm not quite that confident.

There's nothing upon which to base any confidence.

It's not easy to be confident about a team which has yet to win a quarter for the season.

They have Giles and Cameron, both very good young players.

If we even equal them in clearances and possessions, we will win, because Mitch Clark will destroy them... Remember when we played them last year, before he got injured in the second quarter? He was beyond dominant

We won't be beaten ....... we can't be beaten!

If the players take this mindset into the game, and they are prepared to fight tooth & nail to prove the point, we will win the game and perhaps a modicum of respect.

Given our record so far, we cannot afford to be cocky, these guys will be looking for their first win and expecting us to be the best chance they will have to get it. They have shown more promise than our side in a couple of their games so far, so lets not get ahead of ourselves.

I reckon setanta o'hailpin will return and destroy Garland.

That being said I think we'll fall over the line with a 6 point win, after GWS make a late charge.

Setanta was leading The Coleman (or almost so doing) a few years ago after a couple or few rounds IIRC.

Indeed he had 16 up after 6 rounds in 2010 I find. At 199 and 100 he's bigger than anything we have.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
