Brett Ratten and another experienced coach please.

I like the way Ratten goes about footy - had a fast flowing/exciting - but disciplined game style at Carlton

I would take Brett Ratten in a heart beat.

An 80 point loss in a half is unacceptable. We can't keep churning out this vomit inducing rubbish. Something has to change.

I saw Essendon players last night embracing Hird. He is a coach they would die for.

Our coach can't even get the players up for a half of footy, when we are 10 points down in the main break. It's seriously a joke.

I am greatful for both Nathan and Matt Jones, Clarky, and I thought Evans and Bail made a big difference to our overall effort. Terlich and Viney too. But it's just not good enough that senior players like Jamar and Byrnes are running around like headless chickens.

That first half was a case in point that we can and should be competitive. That a simple game plan goes a long way.

What happened in the second half sits with the coach and our senior players. Not bloody anywhere near acceptable.

One more loss and it's adios Neeld. 18k turned out today. How many next week?

Can't afford to keep this up.

did they sing the song at half time or what

the game-of-two-halves performance today is even more damning than last week for Neeld - it shows there is something there but for whatever reason Neeld cannot get them to produce it consistently.. and when the chips are down, boy are they down. In reality if any coach is ever in charge of a side that is outscored 11 goals to 1 in a quarter he needs to go.

oh and words cannot express how much I hate Jamar. 2 weeks in a row he has cost us very, very badly. A complete spud who somehow had one great year - i'll be damned if anyone can explain that.

If we can't find a GREAT coach - can we use two experienced coaches? Has this ever worked before? Do you need a totalitarian coach?

Have our backline all had lobotomies? The decision making is appalling! Frawley looks like he has lost all confidence and we desperately miss Rivers saving us with timely spoils and directions. i like the look of Terlich. He's a goer, but the lack of system and communication made fools of all of them.

Gee, what would you guys be saying if they lost the first half by 50 points. That was a good effort fo 1/2 a game - much more than we have seen before. Obviously there is a problem with keeping it up and serious issues with some players (Jamar for one), but I'm amazed that posters can be so confident that the problem is the coach.

Is neelds game plan just a massive information overload??

First half was simple grass roots footy. Second half it's like out boys are just lost.

Is it a difficult game?? No. Chase, tackle, harass, spread and play accountable football.

It's pretty feckin simple.

Sue, I'm sick of talking about 'the positives'.

We've had seven years of 'the positives'.

He's already had more than a year.

4 wins from 25 games.

Oh well case closed then. Any coach should be able to turn the worst list in footy around in a season's worth of games. Obviously I meant "give him another year." We just cannot sack coaches every two years. It has not and will never work.

At least we were enthusiastic for the first half...but then ouch. Coaching staff and players still have a lot of work to do. Fitness does explain some of it, but not how we came out after the long break. That was mental. It's just a shame. The first half is not how a good team is defensively, but at least our players and the fans enjoyed it and a bit of enthusium was generated. Unfortunately totally undone by the 3rd. Sigh.

we actually led by 10 points halfway through the second, then were outscored by 104 in 75 minutes of footy, someone please explain how this is possible, I am baffled

The players aren't fit enough, they didn't have the desire, and West Coast are a pretty bloody good team.

He's managed to make the "worst list in footy" even worse. Has to go.

Neeld's hard line talk is all very well but it seems to me that his ego gets in the way. If he is challenged by a journo he puts them down with a sarcastic comment. he does the same to Robbo in his little interviews. I have suspected that he does this to players as well. if i was a player it would not make me want to play for him. If he is to change the culture he needs to emphasise more positives. Players like Viney and Nathan Jones will give their all for any coach, and for their teammates. Its the only way they know. But there are other talented players on the list who don't seem to be playing for him. Neeld just seems to get rid of any players he can't get through to rather than finding a way of best utilising the personnel he has got.

Only if they could have mirrored the first half.

A loss against GWS should surely kill what is left of the confidence of the players. I don't care if Melbourne beat GWS by 1 point or 186, we all want 4 points, I want to hear the song... I really want to hear the song.

Just for the record, you had us finishing 6th last season. And if you were expecting the Team to finish 6th last season, it stands to reason that your expectations might have been that we'd do even better this season.

"Worst list in footy" ... your words in post #41 in this thread. How does the worst list in footy (last year) finish 6th? Please explain

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
