Won't post the link, but AD was quoted in The Age today offering support to the MFC. He's only a phone call away, apparently.

What blatant, outrageous hypocrisy.

The AFL tormented us mercilessly for most of last season and the entire offseason, fined us for something that we didn't do, and clearly caused more lasting damage to the club than is immediately obvious.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of the current problems could be attributed to Chris Connolly falling on his sword just before the season commenced.

What rot.

We allowed ourselves to be "tormented". We allowed ourselves to be fined.

Don't invert things.

McLardy rolled over. McLardy caved under pressure.

And now we are paying the price.

I do hope apart from your continuous prattling, other posters are deeply offended by you adopting the Black Power salute as a misguided attempt to signify something with your avatar...

RR is using the clenched fist to signify his call to arms for a revolution at the club...unfortunately the one thing that seems to have been overlooked is that a "revolution" is a 360 degree rotation, which, if he had his way, would see us dump our entire admin and (possibly) coaching staff etc, with the result that we then end up precisely where we began when he commenced his coup.

What at the bottom of the ladder.

Yes, more than likely; and equally likely to take just as long to recover than if we stuck to our guns.

I agree entirely... constructive help is definitely something worth pursuing. However, dismantling the entire football and administration departments as some (well, one in particular) are currently suggesting, would be counter productive at this point as it would only put us further around the S-bend than we currently are.

We need to forget our pride and make the call. We lost all possible pride we had years ago.
Time to admit we need some help and get this once great football club back on track, for the AFL, for the players, for the club employees and most importantly for us, the fans. For we have stuck by them through the dark times for far too long.
Make the call Don, make the call.

This is exactly what I'm fighting against.

The stupidity of taking actions that will actually keep us where we are, or end the club.

The stupidity that so many seem to be clamouring to be a part of.

Like sheep.

If Don doesnt make that call he should step down ASAP, i dont think he will, the clubs a shambles and a train wreck.as you said mate, do it for the important people, THE FANS.

Does anyone think if we were to win less games than GWS and Gold Coast this season then the AFL would give us the first priority pick under the new rule?

This is about all the help I want from Demetriou. GAGF, Vlad.

And perhaps a cash injection of, say $500,000, to go with it.

You are only a phone call way Andy?

Well your organisation spent 7 months trying to tear us apart.................... you forced us to outlay at least $500k in legal fees and you imposed on us a $500k penalty........ you reopened wounds we were trying to heal ............................ and now you are only a phone call away!!

You have got to be kidding!!

The AFL has exacerbated all our failings over recent times. Even McLardy's most strident critics would have to agree that the AFL has quadrupled the problems he has had to confront recently - and now he is supposed to look on it as a a friend ?!

The AFL's whose rules encouraged us to establish a losing culture beat us for playing their game. Now they are only a phone call away ! Give us a break!!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
