Typical MFC player. Highly rated at draft time, plays a ripping first game and leaves you thinking "we have a gem on our hands here". Proceeds to gradually turn to crap with every passing game since.

My favourite play was when the ball was about to go out in the forward pocket, literally about to go over the line, and he's attempted the miraculous goal by sticking a boot onto it, only to succeed in kicking the ball into the third tier and turning over possession. Just unbelievably DUMB.

Have to blame the coach and the selection commitee for picking someone who has showed nothing, ahead of guys like Terlich,Jetta and Kent.

Again it boils down to the man in charge.

If i was on the board i would bring him in ( Neeld) and give him a stern warning, there had better be some serious improvement, by mid season or else!

They would have to cite two things , zero defensive pressure, and picking out of form players ahead of form players.

I convinced Mrs Robbie to take up his sponsorship last week as he didn't have one; good thing Mrs Robbie doesn't know anything about football because she came to her first game today since the 200 GF and didn't know which one he was. This was despite me telling he at least ten times.

I don't have the courage to tell her just how bad he was today.

I was cut to shreds for calling this bloke a dud prior to his first game

However after his first few games you have to ask

Is it Him? Or is it the coach?

I mean Frawley has gone from AA to spud

Watts is played as a loose man in defence

Clark returns to field clearly injured

Who and what is actually being developed here?

I like Neeld but I liked Bailey so I'm a poor judge

We had 5 months to prepare for today. It's not good enough

Coach is responsible. I'd say his ice is melting fast

I agree. Neeld has to take responsibility for picking guys like Nicholson and Tapscott, who've shown nothing in pre-season, ahead of Terlich and Kent.

Poor, poor decisions followed by a plethora of howlers in the coach's box on game day.

Neeld was absolutely pansted by Hinkley.

He's in trouble I reckon. Offers nothing. He's got 21 rounds to find his schtick, otherwise he's out the door. He has to present up the ground, take strong marks, kick goals, impose himself on the ground physically. I can't see it happening though.

want to defend him

cant defend any players after today

go to casey tappy, play well, get recalled, and play hard for the ones...

really was hoping to see him get a run through the midfield this year, would have liked to see Neeld chuck him in there when we were losing every centre clearance having rodan and byrnes in there, although he has no form to back it up, i just felt we needed a bigger body in there, someone to throw some weight around abit, someone to bump cornes and make him think about whether he wanted to spend the whole match tugging on jones jumper

i had hopes for tappy as he had some mongrel and apparently could kick a football which is a rare talent at melbourne.my hopes are fading fast....

Wasting our time here. If we had any balls should of called the name LUKE BALL at selection 17 in that draft.

Absolutely right OMR. I know this is one of WYL's bugbears as well. Spineless that was.

No, Nicholson does not deserve a mention here. He tried a lot harder than the majority of players, he took risks. Granted, some of those didnt pay off, but give the kid some credit, he cops far too much crap on this board.

Tapscott on the other hand is probably the dumbest footballer I've ever seen. His only 'skill' is delivering cheap shots. Too concerned with trying to be a tough guy, rather than working on his football skills.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
