Moloney has done an almost perfect job of ruining any sense of legacy with the MFC. A VC who always professed to bleed red and blue, and i have nothing but contempt for him now. Just a self-interested, bullying boofhead.

If found guilty of some ridiculous charge (impossible to prove), the following should occur;

1. Brock Mclean becomes a persona non gratia at Melbourne. When next he plays us we should focus our attention on him like no other player in the VFL's AFL's history (probably should happen either way)

2. Never buy an Age again read an Age article again, talk to an Age reporter, allow any Age reporter access to our club etcetec, and publish the fact that CW has been the sole cause for this

3. The Club needs to sue the 'pants' off the AFL, Take the outcome to the High court, determine that this action will continue until ALL players from ALL clubs are identified and so called called to account

4. If the Club does not do 3. then the members take this up and take out a civil action against the AFL.

there are so many holes in this stuff that even a layman can see that the AFL will be walking on eggshells over this. If they think this is over when a club or someone is found guilty they had better be prepared to bunker in.

I hope they will come to a rational and intelligent outcome or this has the potential to drag on for years

Bloody rich really - particularly given that he was one player who consistently did his best for the club, eg, by urinating on the bar one night in St Kilda at 3am as the team's VC, and also by racking up a total of zero possessions in the 186 loss against Geelong.

Quality stuff Brent. You bozo.

Brock "Burnouts" McLean and Bozo Moloney. Caroline Wilson's star witnesses in the case against the MFC.

Hence, can some of you please calm down?

The frenzy on the thread is adding fuel to the fire. The events occurred in 2009 and were investigated by the AFL. IMO there is nothing that Burnouts raised in that interview that was particularly remarkable - except that now a few former MFC players/coaches/recruiter, all of whom clearly have an axe to grind with the MFC, are now also using it as an opportunity to take another pot shot at the club.

If it gets to Court, it won't be good for the likes of Bozo Moloney. Take a moment to reflect on some of the "love of MFC development" / "future is bright" statements Bozo made between 2009 and 2011. Was he lying then - or now? Moloney's credibility will not last very long.

This whole thing is becoming a circus which is taking a life of its own. And when that happens, it matters not where the truth lies. The media love this territory.

For the sake of our club, don't buy into it. Stay united.

If only that was the truth of the matter 'Ron', then we would have nothing to worry about. Her sources are a lot more than these 2 and we now have an issue because of the way the club has been run.

If it wasnt for the megabucks involved and the right royal waste of time and resources Id love for this to actually get to court.

A chance to return the aim to the cretins currently siting up with their favour.. AN opportunity to tear shreds off the likes of Wilson, Denham and other fools who are only too quick to propagate lies and mis-truths all in the name of journalism.

Love to see them squirm and contort before disappearing up their own rectums !!

Id be curious to know if there'd been any calls from the Lyon household asking a few of his cohorts...WTF ???

Hey Hannabal, are you comfortable that the people dealing with this now for us are the same one's that got us into this mess?

I'm not but I don't see an option.

No, they've been breathtakingly appalling.

i actually want this to go to court for 2 main reasons.

1. It will kill tanking completely as the AFL will write new rules making sure of it.

2. A court appearance financed by the club & members would unite the us & them mentality forever.

Look at the Storm...They got a knockout punch but refused to hit the canvas. They stood up taller.

the betting agencies will want a clean set of rules going forward. They will be watching this scenario very closely.

No doubt they will wyl along witg every otger football club, player and manager.

Thats probably the best thing that will come out of this issue - a clear definition of tankong and experimenting... i hope!

If it is Moloney as the second player to come out, then he will be remembered as a rat instead of a B&F winner.

they have basically destroyed the fabric of the club, could you imagine Sam Jacobs wanting to come to us through the pre season draft, i wouldnt think so, the boys club really screwed up this time.

AFL regulation (19 A5) provides the definition.

"A person, being a player, coach or assistant coach, must at all times perform on their merits and must not induce, or encourage, any player, coach or assistant coach not to perform on their merits in any match - or in relation to any aspect of the match, for any reason whatsoever."

They don't need to prove the club deliberately set out to lose, they don't need to prove the players weren't trying - in this case it will be enough to prove that the coaches were not performing on their merits based on the direction of CC. If witnesses are accepted in their evidence that CC said what has been reported that he said then at the very least he would seem to be facing a ban under this rule. And as far as I'm concerned if he was stupid enough to do it he deserves it.

Did Fremantle perform to their merits when it rested all its star players?

This simply a fishing exercise.

Not one person has publicly said 'we deliberately lost games'. They hint at player movements, restings etc but never 'we were told not to win games'.

The AGE is sensationalising this by calling our meeting room 'The Vault' and 'secrets from the Vault' etc.

The AFL have to be seen to be looking into it. There is no smoking gun.

My thoughts exactly and for those who have no knowledge of the court system, with the seriousness of this matter and the fall out at stake, the media and others can jump up and down all they like but knowing or assuming and being able to prove are two vastly different things.

Any AFL coach who thought an interview or coaches box was pressure, will have a serious wake up call being hammered on the stand by a QC in this matter. Mclean would be taken to the cleaners and his credibility as a witness would be shot to pieces

Hey Fan, I'm far more interested in your opinion, as your insight to the club at around that time is far greater than mine.

My opinion has been expressed in a number of other threads of which you've been a participant. I've got no further insight really.

It is completely different to rest players as they are not "in any match". But when you turn up on the day - be it as coach, assistant coach or player then you are bound by the rule.

Also I think you will find the teams who rest players don't do it to lose, they still usually win because they do it against weaker sides.

It is a grey area, but I would argue that not playing players is worse than playing them out of position. I'd prefer to have Pavlich in a back pocket than sitting in the stands, but that's just my simple view of things.

You clearly have an agenda.

Are you now or have you ever been an official, a director, an employee or are you in any way, in any capacity (other than being a member) connected to the Melbourne Football Club?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
