We need answers MFC

We need answers as paid up members & clearing the 5 million debt

1 Who were responsible for so called tanking which created a poor culture in the playing list& resulted in players leaving the club & damaging the culture

2 Was our footy dpt/plyers that split which resulted in the 186 loss

3 Why we have lost so many experienced players some of who were best & fairest winners in recent years

4 Our failed early picks over the last 5-6 yrs no longer at the club

5 Could the current coaches/footy dept not able to turn the above players around

I want to be positive about our future with our new coaching & recruiting & they cant be accountable on past picks. Any sanctions re tanking issues will hurt our club very hard & upset many members who have saved this club to see such a poor culture created.

Was Bailey a scapegoat not that I rated him much but did to powers higher above who thought early picks would save this club?

Great post as a paid up member x4 i would think some contact with the members should be made to make sure we know were we stand should the AFL take action.

I will spew up if the MFC screws it long suffering supporters yet again. If the AFL does anything it should be against individuals and not punish the club. By punishing the club it screws the hell out of supporters and those who had nothing to do with this mess.

The club has to install bloody confidence with its supporter base...FFS get on the front foot Mclardy and show some balls.

Currently I want my money back.

1. Look at the articles by caro

2. Get over it - how long ago was it?

3. If your refering to beamer thats footy. His heart wasnt in it and if your not in get out

4. Give Morton and Cook a call and ask them

5. You can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink

If you want to ve positive about "our new coaching & recruiting & they cant be accountable on past picks" then have the common sense to realise that the old recruiter (prendergast) is gone, have a look at the new direction of the current recruitment, and if you want to talk about tanking and culture then you might aswell say that the MFC, Carlton and co. all have the same culture.

We are all paid up members, we have all contributed to the debt demolition

Great post

You spelled 'terrible' wrong.

1. As it stands, you can't prove we did anything other than what other clubs have done for ages. If we did, then you'll find out in due course when the investigation reveals what happened.

2. No. Hyperbole.

3. Who are you worried about? Bruce? He was giving us little. Moloney? Even less. McDonald? One mistake.

4. A combination of poor drafting, poor development/coaching, a terrible environment for a player to try to become elite in, and the players themselves not being capable of stepping up to AFL level.

5. This question doesn't even make grammatical sense.

Absolutely nothing should be said by the Club until they know what they are actually being accused of by the AFL. The AFL and Vlad need this to blow over as much as we do so we need to bide our time and almost work with the AFL on this. I know that is really unpalatable but there is more to lose by jumping the gun. I still firmly believe that there are other cards from the Scully debacle that the MFC have not played as yet. I like most here love the Club and wish that the backstabbing that is currently on display stops. It will only succeed in splittting the Club in two. Haven't we been through enough this year. Now is the time for solidarity. If when all the information comes out and certain staff have to resign, then the discussion re the current board can play out. Until that time get behind the Club - support it. Journos do read this site and if they get a whiff of instability amongst the supporters we are supplying them with more fodder to beef up a storyline.

I was hoping Cam Schwab might want to come on here and reach out again - I've got a feeling there's a few people who wouldn't mind having a bit of a chat with him.

Nice try but they won't even tell us what our sponsorships are worth.

With the absolute bull this club has been spinning since Schwab came on the scene I would not be surprised if there are rubbery figures out there especially when they withold information. So far any windfall is courtesy of the unique debt demolition event. I have doubts that this club is capable of earning an honest doller yet.

Not a word should be said by the club until a full legal breifing has been fully completed.

Too many loose lips have already rocked the building.

Be patient.

1 The previous administration have a lot to answer for. They started the rot.

2 Our footy dept was split because of agenda/personality clashes. The week leading up to the game, there were players who didn't train and didn't notify the club and Bailey could not get tough with them because he was a pushover.

3 Off-field incidents as well as on-field are the reasons why we have so many changes. Moloney pi$$ing on a nightclub dance floor, not ideal. The sooked it up when he wasn't made captain. in 2012 he was a cancer....!!!!!(Do you remember Stef Martin waving to the camera that night we were getting smacked????? His papers got stamped the next day! Goneski.

4 Poor recruiting, and those people have gone. Picked players on potential and aerobic ability before football smarts and toughness.

5 See point 3

Bailey was no scapegoat, he was weak, that's why he got the job, because they could tell him what to do.

Any decent coach, a bloke in the Mark Neeld mould, would have told the previous board to pi$$ off and let him get on with developing players.

Supporting the current board is not the same thing as supporting the club. It is in the best interests of the club that they go.

Incidentally, despite the noises about "unity" and "inclusion" that you occasionally hear from the current Admin, the club is horribly divided already and has been for some time. When they say the club is unified, what they mean is that they have stacked key positions with mates and now simply ignore everyone else. They actually have the nerve to sell this as an achievement. Seriously, just look at Bailey and Schwab's relationship. Have you ever seen a less unified club?

If there is disunity Hazy it's more likely caused by fifth columnists like you and your pals who have no intentions of ever being inclusive

Absolutely I couldnt agree with you anymore. Ps, whilst get rid of the board I also feel that we should:

  • Recruit Fev
  • Employ Nixon as the manager for all players
  • Ask Caro to do more stories on the MFC
  • Merge with GWS
  • Manditory weeing on club floors
  • Make Brock an honorary MFC member
  • Get rid of Dawes/Hulk Hogan/Viney

... Can anyone think of anything else?

Just a random question... why do many think they are soo important?

My rough calculations: revenue is around $33.5mil a year. The average membership costs (Adult 11) $329.... Your membership represents 0.001% of the clubs total revenue and because you post, anonymously without your membership number. to a non-MFC controlled forum demanding and/or needing answers you deserve them?

As far as I am aware with the tanking issue (the same as 99.9% of the football community) is a few articles have been written in a newspaper and an investigation is ongoing. The club should respond to this on here or in public? Respond to Caroline Wilson whenever she writes an article about MFC?? I would much prefer the club concentrated on working through the issues with the AFL in the best way they see fit, getting new players functioning as a team for 2013, the board looking at our strategic direction, the marketing group looking at getting new members, etc.

Surely as members, supporters or whatever you call yourself, our energy would be much better served supporting the team; rather than looking for another opportunity to "have a crack" at current or past staff. In the fullness of time it will be public knowledge to some extent - once the investigation finishes!

And for those having a go at Cameron, Don or any others. How would you have any idea what so ever of what they are doing day in, day out? Name an organisation where you know what senior manager's do every day??

Not a bad first post under this name....

Oh, and a 4 x Member for 2013, debt demolition contributer, purchaser of every raffle ticket for a Volvo or offered by Dudley and finally Demon Blood supporter of MFC...

I bet you don't own a bottle of Shane Woewoedin limited edition Brownlow Medal Port in original box. I can sell you mine.

It would be bad for business to spill our guts on every past mistake. We need to show strength not concentrate on our past failures. "We stuffed up picks, tanked and haven't developed our players. Now Please sign up as a member." That's a great sell. Furthermore we can't and won't comment on the tanking issue. Why give the AFL any ammo they need to sanction us? Do we deserve answers? Yes. Should we get them though? I think not.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
