  1. Hi All, I'll keep this pretty short as most people have covered off today's training. - I was impressed with Jamar's stong grabs in full ground drills. - Davey looked great! I really hope he has a blinder this year. He's like a new recruit for us. - Jesse Hogan is the biggest 17 year old I have seen, I can't wait until he has 50-60 games behind him. As I said about Monday, Dawes is still 2-grabbing a lot of marks and Troy Davis just isn't up to it. The ball movement from defensive 20-40m is a short, sharp kick to the wing. Davis just can't use the pill that well. Lynden Dunn looks really fit and strong.
  2. MJT, I was impressed with the backline drill of short, sharp kicks to the flanks. Big emphasis on it. Of the guys who were involved in that particular drill, he clearly brought up the rear IMO. Agree with you re Blease and Strauss. Particularly Strauss, he could be anything.
  3. Hi All, I went down to have a look today, and as we should expect, they were all in pretty good condition. Pretty light session on the whole, they split into FWD's, Mid's/Rucks and Back's. Taggert and J Watts trained away from the group, focussing on playing on after a marking situation. No newbies at all, they were in the Induction. No Mark Neeld either. T-Mac and Nicholson lead the running as always, Gawn was running 800's (recovering from hamstring issues), and Big Mitch was on the bike the whole time. Positives: Lynden Dunn, Col Sylvia, Nathan Jones and Luke Tapscott look in really good nick. Negatives: Chris Dawes was 2-grabbing everything (not competitive either), seems like he is still having wrist/thumb issues. Knee heavily strapped and he has slimmed down, looks too light. Backline kicking drill, Troy Davis could not hit the side of a barn.
  4. 1 The previous administration have a lot to answer for. They started the rot. 2 Our footy dept was split because of agenda/personality clashes. The week leading up to the game, there were players who didn't train and didn't notify the club and Bailey could not get tough with them because he was a pushover. 3 Off-field incidents as well as on-field are the reasons why we have so many changes. Moloney pi$$ing on a nightclub dance floor, not ideal. The sooked it up when he wasn't made captain. in 2012 he was a cancer....!!!!!(Do you remember Stef Martin waving to the camera that night we were getting smacked????? His papers got stamped the next day! Goneski. 4 Poor recruiting, and those people have gone. Picked players on potential and aerobic ability before football smarts and toughness. 5 See point 3 Bailey was no scapegoat, he was weak, that's why he got the job, because they could tell him what to do. Any decent coach, a bloke in the Mark Neeld mould, would have told the previous board to pi$$ off and let him get on with developing players.
  5. Considering that Bartram's knee is very suspect, i'd be delisting him and then re-draft him as a mature age rookie, at least it frees up another spot. FWIW I'd love to see them go after Jacobs. Symes is a chance to come to us if Craig David has anything to do with it, and if he can run and carry, then they may as well have a go.
  6. Barrett the phucknuckle, is no different to Greg Denham, loves to lay the boots into our mob....! Clearly he struggled filling in time on Trade Radio with relevant material, and found it easier to have a crack at us. It will take some time, but sooner rather than later he will be knocking on the door @ Aami Park wanting to talk to Neeld about how he turned our club around. Not happy about Gys, but if he is lazy, and doesn't comply, then off he goes. Let's hope the other players learn from it.
  7. My brother flew to Thailand today via Perth and told me that Cale Morton was on his flight. You story does check out...! I thought nothing of it until a guy my mate follows on Twitter, posted a photo of Morton 200ms from Eagles HQ. He heard him on the phone saying "It went well, I guess. We'll see what happens."
  8. Take out of this what you will, I'm sure some people will struggle to believe that this is fact, or shoot me down. Bring it on!!!! My brother flew to Thailand today via Perth and told me that Cale Morton was on his flight. He grew up there, although his folks moved to Vic to be closer to he and his brothers (stay with me, I'm getting to the point)....! I thought nothing of it until a guy I follow on Twitter, who's handle is @benno_76 posted a photo of Morton 200ms from Eagles HQ. He heard him on the phone saying "It went well, I guess. We'll see what happens" For what it's worth, I still think he'll be on our list next year. I'm not a huge fan, but I do think he has talent (that dreaded word again), and if he grows a pair his best could be very good.
  9. I have a good source, Hogan will be a Demon by tomorrow. We are working on Caddy at 13, if it does not come off then the whole Dawes/Wellingham scenario might gather some momentum. Trying to off-load Martin and picks for Dawes and picks also.
  10. Let's face it, Viney is going to cost us pick 3. But in the end he is worth it, so let's not worry about a competitive advantage, or the ducks and drakes, let's just hope they do the right thing. Viney will cost us 3. Brody Grundy or Toumpus at 4. Byrnes will be more than handy Dawes or Martin - Big Stef every day of the week! But if he wants out or the coach is not a fan, then that whole scenario with Wellingham and picks would be alright.
