I wonder if the tribunal's deliberations are going to be as brief as they were the night they stuck it up Jack Trengove.

That was running through my mind to - what was it? 27 seconds or was that the appeal?

Tribunal chairman to jury: Judd's priors to be disregarded in assessment of this case

WTF?

Yeah -- WTF. Surely that means in relation to guilty vs not, and not related to the penalty.

Judd has said he couldn't plead guilty to an intentional misconduct charge

Who gives a fat rat's clacker what Judd will plead guilty to?????

Why is this even relevant????

The evidence is there, the tribunal has been told to assess it, So do your bloody job and knock him out for 6 weeks.

Gleeson: Tribunal has total discretion re: penalty. Suggests appropriate sanction 425-550 demerit points, i.e. 4-5 weeks, as a base level before pleas etc considered

before pleas?? the guy has also said he doesnt think he is guilty.... now that the penalty has occurred why should he get a plea chance as well? So.... does the punishment of 425-550 then include the 30% loading he also has?

Apparently that is MRP based, not tribunal.

then something seems wrong with that... especially when the tribunal chairman also told them (the jury) to not consider prior indiscretions.... thats not right IMO

Disgusting act to be found guilty of. Really the guy should be ashamed of himself yet has the temerity to lie and cry foul.

I don't care how good he is I now have no respect for this [censored].

Gleeson for AFL has clarified that Judd's preparedness to plead to a lesser charge should not earn him a discount but his show of remorse could

Have to agree... also loved how Swallow went hard to assist Adams like he did. Obviously knew something wasn't right.

Fat chance of him showing remorse....

Here you go.

Gleeson: Tribunal should not mechanically apply Judd's 30 per cent loading for a bad record. But should not be treated the same as a player with no loading. Should increased 4-5 games buy about 30 per cent

.... isn't that the same thing? applying a loading of 30%.... and increasing the penalty by 30%??

Straw clutching?

Wilson: there is no base sanction for the offence.Appealing to tribunal jury members as past players who would understand the on-field pressures players are under

and

Wilson: appropriate base penalty 2-3 games, take into account 30% loading BUT also fact Judd did not have info about particulars of AFL charge until 4pm today

Posted

Wilson: fine line between AFL version of events and Judd's, so his plea to lesser offence should be taken into account

Thanks Mrtiwster for the updates. Fascinating stuff.

Watch the Judd PR spin machine go into damage mode once this is settled.

Lucky I reckon with that.... now the issue is.... if they appeal, does that really show remorse?

Very lucky, by my reckoning he was looking at 6 and even that is lenient!!

Most you could expect with Judd.

Anyone else 6 weeks min..

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
