Tom Couch to debut against Fremantle

Look out..... The Dees are off the Couch !!

Good luck son; well deserved id say !

Well done. Tom has earned an opportunity, and hopefully he will grasp it with both hands..

I saw him get heavily tagged against Sandy? I think? - anyway, he only had half a dozen possessions, so I hope he has been coached well and learnt from that experience.

Good luck to him.

In for Magner, I reckon.

Will wait for the side to be announced before I get to excited....What does the Geelong Addy know?????

Great news!!! But expectations need to be low and we should not expect him to come in and dominate kicking 4 goals a game for Dees (well here is hoping).

Not the greatest shot of him in the Hun haha

oh and ps "He was placed back on the rookie list when Jetta returned to the senior list two weeks ago..." thought so... :)

Good to see the young fella's hard work rewarded. It'll be interesting to see whether he's thrown into the midfield or used mainly as a half forward

Not sure if memory serves me correctly, but that may have been the game where he found a way to kick the goal that won the game after a really tough day at the office.

Guts.

Coming off the couch Bench?

Or straight in?

Well done young Couch. they tell me he can spread all over the field like a weed.

Magner or Moloney. Hope Magner stays in only because of my Super Coach prospects. Bennell?

Straight in!! 94K and a good swap for Marely Williams

Awesome! Go gettem Couchy!

I hope we dont start him as the sub.

Out: Spencer, Dunn, Magner.

In: Jamar, Green, Couch.

Just what i think.

An article on the MFC site confirms it.

Can we not get fined for this? I thought we weren't allowed to announce inclusions/exclusions prior to 6:25pm.

Debuts seem to be different. This isnt the first time a club has said xxx to debut. Gibson was the last one from memory. Maybe we can do it for first gamers?

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
