Michaliades is a super player for sandringham, only young but can tear you apart.

Im happy to put him down as a mature age rookie in years to come, im going to call it early

Why can't we try Bennell as a spread mid who can be given the ball and take off. He can do that from wing or in the middle. We need to inject clearance pace to improve our forward entries.

I really don't think he'd be any more of a success as a "Spread Mid" than he has been as a "Spread Flanker".

I am actually feeling a little bit let down on this game, and it has nothing to do with the Casey side. The saints have a young rookie named Minchington who has been playing for Sandringham seniors quite regularly. I've known his family for most of my life, played a variety of sports against his brothers, and was really looking forward to seeing the kid play. Wouldn't you know it, he's strained a groin muscle and is going to miss this week.

I may be wrong but didn't somebody with that surname play for our under 19s some time ago?

I don't think any of his older brothers got that far, but there are a few of them, so I could be wrong.

Perhaps you could ask because thanks to the invaluable demonwiki, I discovered this:-

Brett Minchington

DOB: 14 February 1969

Games: 0

Goals: 0

Listed player in 1987 wearing number 46 and Number 54 in 1988. Didn't play seniors.

The next year he played for Central Districts in the SANFL.

I think I can speak for all at Demonland in wishing James Strauss all the best on his return to senior footy tomorrow at TBBO.

Melbourne youngster James Strauss to play for Casey in VFL

MELBOURNE youngster James Strauss will return from a serious leg injury tomorrow when Casey clashes with Sandringham at Trevor Barker Oval.

The 22-year-old suffered a compound fracture of his left leg in the Demons' 76-point loss to Carlton in Round 20 last season.

"I'm pretty good at the moment," Strauss said after the incident.

"I suppose I've just got to try to keep positive and, hopefully, I'll get back to footy as quick as possible."

I'll second that.

I think the article has it wrong about Ricky Petterd who is actually coming back from injury and wasn't "dumped" after the QB game (and I don't think he'll line up at CHB either).

Half time in the early game at Trevor Barker Beach Oval and the Casey Scorpions Development League team is trailling by seven points in a low scoring game after having the better of things in the first quarter.

Cook, Gys, Strauss, Tynan, Davis - our kids are such . . . kids. Like the look of Strauss and Gys so far. SME giving an extreme experience so far.

Quarter Time:

Casey 1.4.10 trail Sandringham 2.6.18.

A dreadful quarter of football from two teams in the top four.

Major possession winners for Casey at quarter time: Panozza 8, Martin 7, Cook 6, Gysberts, J. Tynan 5.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
